Death Stranding delisted?
Hi, why did the OG version of DS get delisted? Only allowed to get the directors cut now?

Right, the more expensive version is the only one you can buy now. Really cool...

No. The original was delisted when they listed the Directors Cut over 2 years ago.

It's ok I got both the OG and Directors Cut for free on Epic Game Store, but still, not a fan of removing options.

I believe it is due to various licensing issues which were corrected in the directors cut.
Such as many brand sponsorships with products and advertisements for tv shows and so on.

And people had already complained about the game not being listed before, because they wanted to get the profile backgrounds and emojis.
Instead of relisting the game, they added the backgrounds and emojis to the directors cut release.
Pretty much confirming that it's due to licensing and them not wanting to retroactively go back and remove things from the original game, opting to leave it as is for original owners of the game.

They removed all the Monster Energy drinks paraphernalia when releasing the Directors Cut. The promos for Ride with Norman Reedus are still in the game, I believe. You will see them when Sam uses the toilet.

It's not what they took out, it's what they added theat makes the first few hours easier than the original cut. Then there's the other stuff like the Valve stuff that was a pre-order bonus.

Plus it was released when the PS5 had come out so KojiPro gave it an updated graphic overhaul to take advantage of the Ps5.

The reason I asked is because the OG popped up as an unlisted game in my Wishlist, and SteamDB noted that the status was updated yesterday,

perfectly fine with them maintaining one version of the game, that said even with the new D Cut should be cheaper. HELL All games that are older should be cheaper some reason companies feel their digital products age like wine.

If i buy directors cut instead upgrade, can i keep both version copies? (OG and cut), or will i get same result just by buying upgrade?

Yea, i'm curious about this too. I do have both versions though but can I still go back to the O.G?
(not that I want to, just curious)

Two separate games entirely. Two different online servers. The older game may be less populated than the newer game.

But if i buy upgrade, will i gain a separate game or will it replace my existing copy of the game (Turning original into directors cut).
