Early game BT strategy

So I've not played much past the beginning of act 2 after crossing the sea.
But the entire time I was without proper weapons for quickly fighting BTs, my method for dealing with them was this:

Park my bike and drop all my cargo in shelter or just outside the BT area.
Run into the BT area and spawn the whale, run away from the wale back to my bike & cargo.
The whale despawns along with all the BTs and rain.

I can then proceed on my journey unmolested by BTs. No need for stealth or wasting time in the rain...

Continue with the story until you unlock weapons to fight against BTs. It's not very far off.
You start unlocking weapons on Chapter 3, but if you want to really be well-geared up, Chapter 8 is where you stop.

normally i just try to avoid BT areas in the early game, later on you get grenades usefull against all and later still you get a stealth takedown ability for the roamers

Once you stock up Hematic Grenades, you're pretty much set to go.
