vehicles wont move forward, only in reverse.

recently i stored my vehicle in a safehouse garage, and then retrieved it. now, none of the vehicles in my game will accelerate, they will only drive in reverse. if i accelerate in reverse and then hit W, the vehicle will come to a stop but will not drive forwards. I have restarted the game, put the vehicle back in the garage/rested in a private room, drove it backwards to a charger to make sure it had battery, changed my keybindings, verified the games files, etc. and nothing is working.
