My first two play throughs were with the original release. First was on Normal difficulty and really focused on just completing the story. Chasing cut scenes and narrative. 2nd was about catching the bits of the story I missed, 5 starring all the NPCs, and getting 100% achievements. I played again once the "Directors cut" came out, and even started another run just recently. On this run, i just learned that you can tie down your packages on the floating carts, or on the motorcycles using the strand. I totally learn new aspects and features every time I play the game.
You get to keep some of the effects of your previous play too- so on your next run you will find that the roads get built a little faster and easier. If you engaged with the online component and did strand contracts and liked other peoples stuff a lot- your 2nd run will be considerably easier. I'm actually playing "offline" this time for the challenge.
This time is mostly because I really want to play pt. 2 but it probably won't be out on PC for another couple years.
Anyway- post story, you can do community/online challenges, racing on the track, or just focus on getting S-rank on all the standard orders to make you LLLx number as big as it can be. if nothing else, helping some NPCs is fun, and it feels good to take a digital walk through a pretty landscape. Keep on keeping on fellow porter!
It's up to you, but the game will really just be 300+ hours of being the world's best UPS driver.
