Director’s Cut for Mac?
I’ve already bought Director’s Cut on Steam, and I was expecting the Mac version to become available at some point. Now it is on App Store, but still not here. Will it become available? Do I need to return the game here and re-buy it on App Store?

Same question
If Mac is more important to you than Windows, yeah you should refund if you are able. It’s unknown if they will release the Mac version onto Steam at this point, but I believe it’s unlikely since it’s not out still and they recently updated the Steam Version. Seems most probable that they would have dropped the Mac version with that update if it was coming.

However, it’s possible that Kojima/505 could have some kind of timed exclusivity agreement with Apple to only keep the Mac version in the App Store for X number of months (but that would be kind of silly, can’t imagine the market size is large enough for Apple to care about Steam sales specifically for the Mac Version). Of all the recent Mac versions of big games, all released on Steam except for Resident Evil 4 and Village. (Lies of P, Layers of Fear, Stray, No Man’s Sky, The Medium, Balder’s Gate). That’s the best answer I can give as someone with no inside info.

Have had it on Steam for a long time now, so I'd like to know as well if the macOS App Store version will be added to steam for existing owners before I plunk down the $20 on the App Store
I hope so too, I want to play it but I only have an M1 base model MacBook Pro and not sure if the performance will be good enough to justify the purchase since I already own it. That’s nice that it’s only $20, I thought it would be higher. IMO, they should do like Capcom did and make it free download with the price being an in-app purchase to unlock the rest of the game.

Also wondering about this.

I am abroad now with my macbook m3, would love to play death stranding if they port it over to steam as well.
I don't wanna rebuy the game.

It’s already playable on Mac Sequoia using Steam with Whisky or Crossover.

It runs smoothly, but 16GB of RAM is recommended.

I’m playing it on a Mac Mini M1 with 8GB RAM. However, after completing just one delivery, I need to restart both the Steam app and Whisky to free up more RAM. If I proceed directly to a second delivery without restarting, it becomes a bottleneck and causes lag. 😅:steamthis:

I'm on whisky and I can't get it to open. Any tricks to get it running?

Yeah, we agree. Apple probably payed Kojima or 505 games or whomever to restrict the Mac port to the App Store. That, or they funded the entire cost of porting it to Mac with that stipulation.
