Is there seriously no way to turn off the music?
I can't stand the soundtrack. Please tell me there is some way to turn it off. Games have had the technology to mute in game music for decades.

It's just the kind of music I can't bear to listen to, so unbearably underwhelming. The game would be so much better without it. If there is any way to disable it let me know.

PROTIP telling me I should jusy enjoy the low effort music is not going to work.

Afraid you're stuck with it.

Until someone mods the game to fix it I just won't play it I guess.

That is a sad state of affairs then because it was bland and uninspired at best.

blud ain't gonna play the game until someone removes the game music lol. although i kinda agree with you, kojima really dropped the ball this time by not letting people choose when they want to hear music and when they don't. (it's almost like he forgot he made the music player for mgsv wtf?)

for sure, im trying to remember the first game i ever owned which let you change the music audio and i reckon it must have been 1990/91 it came out
I think the music is really part of the narrative of this game. It was created and directed by Hideo Kojima and he wanted to create a game with a movie-like narrative. Not listening to the music playing during the parts of the game that they play would be like not experiencing the game as was intended by its original creator. I understand that some people might not enjoy the soundtrack, even though that is one of my favorite things from this game, but I'm afraid that your only alternative would be to install some mod that removes these songs.

You're getting soundtrack? I mean, I want to enjoy it and it gets getting cut off if I don't stand around and wait for it to finish.

If you really want it to end, just pass by some danger or get damaged and the music will stop. And it only plays during the end of the major missions and you can also cut it off.

Unless you play the music in the music player in your room, you don't really get music ingame.

That's great. Shame the music is terrible. I want to play without it. They didn't seem to anticipate that people in the modern age might have better music they want to listen to. I'm sure some people like the music, but by not having a way to disable it, you would have to therefore ensure your music is so perfect that literally every single person who will ever play the game will enjoy it. It is such an absurd level of arrogance to assume your painfully mid music is so good nobody would ever want to mute it.

Do you get to turn off the music you don't like in a movie? Think about it.

In cinema, it's a director's medium, meaning that everything put into the film is usually the director's point of view. The soundtrack is there because that's how the director wanted it.
Kojima makes cinematic video games. His name is all over it, it's his point of view.

We need video games with a vision, with a strong point of view, not more ♥♥♥♥ designed by a committee to make the maximum amount of money that tries to make everyone happy. We already have way too much of that.

If you want that, go play whatever Ubisoft schlock is out this week.

This isn't a movie. The fact you think that's a defence is pretty silly.

This is a video game. An interactive platform. I know the old joke is Kojima just wants to make movies - but this isn't a movie. I hope you can see how describing it as one or comparing it to one is quite absurd. I would belabour the point but I can't tell if you're being genuinely serious with this train of thought.

Never mind having reviewed your posts in this forum I've concluded you are serious about this.

Kojima is serious about it. It's not my opinion.

You compared a video game to a movie.
