I agree with you that its too easy to ruin the moment so i just do my best to preserve it, sometimes i turn around and walk the other way for a bit just to walk and listen lol.
Yes that's what i force myself to do now. But it feels unnatural so still ruins it a lot :(....
Also when you say "When the song start nowadays" do you mean the songs keep playing randomly after finishing the game ? If so, that would be appreciable indeed.
Songs don't trigger during the end game period. They only trigger during narrative events.
But, given that BB likes the game music it should (emphasise should) recharge a BB when music plays at a generator or a shelter if the music is playing while you're in the vicinity. I haven't tested that yet. Never thought about it til I was typing this reply.
It's neat to find out new things after playing this game 1000 hours.
IKR. I was pretty surprised when I noticed it.
I did try the timefall shelter after typing my reply. I rocked up under someone's shelter near Thomas Southerland's place, changed the music and then looked at BB while the music was playing. It may have been a slightly accelerated healing time but I didn't stopwatch it. I did record the process but I am yet to watch it back to see if I was right.
But BB is a big fan of the in-game music. I have a few other things to try with it yet. This also partly explains why we didn't get a personal music player for the open world. It's also an argument FOR having a personal music player. Still, there's always the musician
Anyhow, the way some of these things were put in, I feel that most video games just don't do this. Or at least, not in this way. They're not quite easter eggs, they're something else that normally I'd call "polish".
One of my favourite HK-isms were the "girly magazines" from MGS2. Rotten food from MGS3. Or that the quickest way to defeat Olga on the tanker isn't headshots, but belly shots.
I tend to find his games genuinely reward repeated play through.
