Buy now at 50% off or wait for Summer sale?

Death Stranding Director's Cut is on sale now for 50% off until June 29. My understanding is that the Steam Summer sale starts on June 29. Judging from past history what are the chances that this game will be at regular price or at a higher discount during the Summer sale? Trying to decide if I should buy it now or wait for the Summer sale.

Question you have to ask yourself is: Do you think it's gonna hit a new low on this Summer Sale or not?

For video games generally, I would expect the this summer sale to show some discounts like we've never seen before.

right now steam is cheapest. Of course there are other sites, but deal with them at your own risk.

Whether I buy now or later I will definitely be buying the game from Steam.

If you're going to buy on Steam one way or another and aren't in a rush, no harm in waiting for the Summer Sale either way. Worst case, the price doesn't bottom out and it's still 20 bucks.

Yep. I'm in no rush so will probably wait. Will be interesting to see if the current sale price changes during the Summer sale.

When a game goes on sale on steam it can't go on another sale with a bigger discount for at least 6 weeks. It won't be any cheaper during the summer sale.

Just went looking for a source myself, and as per the Steam Partner policy, found at https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/discounts, it states:

"Discounts cannot be run within 30 days of your prior discount, with the exception of Steam-wide seasonal events."

So it's not impossible that there could be a Summer Sale discount, since it's a Steam-wide seasonal event and all.

Per the statement quoted above, Steam wide seasonal events are the exception to the 30 day rule . So that would seem to indicate that a game on sale prior to the Summer sale could possibly be discounted during the Summer sale. Will wait and see what happens with this game and a few others that are currently on sale.
