My guess is that the Elder only dies if you start (and then fail) one of the urgent deliveries sent to him - which would mean that he's safe as long as you simply don't take these orders (or, if you take them, make sure that you complete them in time). That's just speculation though, based on the fact that no "urgent" order is actually urgent until you pick it up. I could very well be wrong.
EDIT: It's also possible that I might not have progressed far enough into the game yet to see the Elder die. I'm currently in chapter 6.
I complete those urgent orders everytime, with SSS rank.
So I can say that is not the problem.
But it is possible that "take urgent orders for the first time start the countdown for Elder".
When did the Elder die in the cases you've experienced that? Given that I left him without medicine for many in-game days, he _should_ die in my game, but currently he's still alive. I have done his "urgent delivery" missions a few times, but with long gaps in between.
Perhaps his "death countdown" doesn't start before one of the later chapters?
Both death are after Episode 7.
Last time it was Episode 8 Heartman, this time Episode 7 Clifford.
using the delivery bot no less
That's new for me.
People always guessing that medicine orders are the key.
So it could be just any orders deliver to The Elder, and that is enough for it.
