You can play offline but I think it's fun to set up things that I know will help other people, makes it feel a little less lonely and it ties into the story loosely. You will be in a bind at some point and be thanking that player that left you a rope to climb or a bridge to cross!
It's a very unintrusive mode but if you don't like it you can turn it off and just have the world filled with only things that you build.
Likes are not currency as you cannot use them in any meaningful transaction. They, likes, are a metric of how connected to the game world you are. If you look at your deliveries when you deliver to a prepper/waystation/distro centre, you are building a level of connection with a possibility of a "5 star" connection. The stronger the connection with each prepper, the more stuff you can build in their section of the Chiral Network.
The more likes = better relationships = better connections = more facilities and structures YOU can build on that section of the Chiral Network.
Likes also show other players that you have walked their path, used their gear.
sort of , its sort of XP , it unlocks some of stuff so something youd prefer to get
its called world persistence but with multiplayer , you can see others players affect the world but you not see them (well sort of , they apear during fights to help you but not actualy)
i think its fun way to have SP game , but still have it community driven , had fun time rushing roads and towers , playing basicly "factorio" in it
was getting ridicules amount of likes for it
It'll probably still be kinda fun, but players obviously will have to build everything and gather a lot of resources to do so.. it'll slow down everything.
