I have gamepass version and there is a same issue. I won't buy any upgrade for that nonsense.
This isn't a game issue. I've put well over 50 hours in so far... Not had a single crash. Using an nvidia card...
Access Violation errors are often an indication of a bad driver install (use DDU to nuke your graphics driver then reinstall the latest one), or hardware problems (particularly RAM errors, run memtest86 overnight to check).
If you've got anything overclocked, set it back to reference settings. This includes factory overclocks on graphics cards.
Realtek drivers can cause issues with some games, especially if they've not been updated in a while. Admittedly it's been a few years since I last saw them causing any real problems... Replacing them with windows generic audio drivers will fix the problem. I can't comment as I've not used the onboard audio with the game.
Depending on your antivirus, that could well be the culprit (even if you've "disabled" it, some still have background processes running). So if you're using some Symantec/Norton/Kaspersky/Avast/AVG bollocks or similar, uninstall it and reboot.
And don't run a bunch of overlays (Steam/Epic/Discord/OBS etc). In fact, turn them all off while testing.
It could also be a faulty windows component. Open a command prompt as admin, and run the following commands:
If it finds any errors run:
This one sometimes appears to freeze, that's normal. Leave it alone and it will sort itself out after a short while.
And finally, run:
If this one finds any errors, let it fix them, reboot, and run it again.
You don't need to buy the upgrade, just wait until they fix the server issue. Because of the time of year, they only started looking at it yesterday.
Epic, although the problem has been noticed on Steam too.
It's not entirely impossible.
I do not overclock my CPU, but I am running an Xmp profile. I will stop that and check.
My Windows was very recently installed and the commands show no error.
The question does remain why this game in particular has the crashes...
I removed the Xmp Profile and set it to Auto, and I have been playing for hours. Not a single crash since then!
If you are a developer, I owe you an apology. If you are not, I owe you a thanks!
I have a mixed set of RAM sticks from two different manufacturers. I think I will get them from same manufacturer now to equalize things and then try higher Xmp again.
