It the upgrade worth it?

I bought this game a few months ago, back when the original was still up for sale. I have not touched it yet. Should I shell out the extra 10 bucks to upgrade?

That's what I'm wondering, too. From what I'm reading it's mostly QoL changes, which we really shouldn't have to pay extra for. Is there new content?

no. doesn't run without crashing. instead of devs offering support on steam, where you buy the game, they make you jump through portals to report it

Yes. Runs for hours without crashing a single time. Haven't needed support since the game runs fine.

As for just quality of life improvements? I would say there is plenty of new content to justify another 10 bucks. New missions, New toy's, New collectibles, New cutscenes. Its really one of those "do you want more of the game that you love?" kind of things. But since you haven't played the basic version I'm guessing you won't really feel that way.

Hover carriers now with ziplines.

The new maser gun is nice and all. But reducing "get off zipline. stuff all my stuff and the cargo carrier onto my back. get on zipline. Get off zipline, put it back on the cargo carrier" UI shuffle is a lot more notable. Even with me basically ignoring hover carriers entirely during my launch run.

Keep in mind you can only bring one active hover carrier on ziplines, not two. But hey, better than zero!

If you like the game and are itching for another playthrough then yes, definitely worth it.

I think it's worth it. But then Death Stranding is one of my all time favorite games.

since i already finished the game long time ago, i don't care quality of life stuff, does the new mission worse the 10 buck ? how many hours for the new mission ?

If you're only interested in the new mission, then definitely not worth it.

I feel it runs a lot smoother on my system, the director's cut content is great, and the new ranked system and challenges are fun content to play.

I paid money to see morbius. That was two hours and I felt deeply disappointed. $10 for this content easily worth it, that's cheaper than a morbius ticket, and infinitely interesting. It's a great way to rexperience the game.

More delivery tools, early stage weapons, combat options, zip line upgrade, training ground for somebody who want to test combat skills, driving training courses for who want to test driving methods... More than enough reason to start a new playthrough...

Sometimes I don't understand why people cares about little 10 bucks... You probably spend 10 times more when you eat in a restaurant or drink in a bar for an hour or two...

Dont bother buying the dlc, it runs worse then base game by atleast 25% in 4k, its shocking because even after their recent update which was about 30gb it did not fix anythting at all, in their update report they stated it was minor update but it was about 30gb to download which is useless.

I regret buying the dlc cuz i love the game, but the dlc overal in terms of content i thought it would be fun to try new stuff, but the performance issue is really a huge thing, massive difference in fps between dc and original.

Meanwhile ps5 got first the dc update with noticeable optimized fps boost without issues, but pc update is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no quality control, Kojima needs to be called out for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This is unacceptable.

there's also loads of new music, both from artists and from ludvig forssell. graphically on pc it's the same as the original pc release, so if you had problems running that one, you'll probably have problems here.

it's not just a new mission, (it's actually a new area with multiple missions and its own overarching plot), it's also racing, loads of new gear, all integrated throughout the entire game as you progress. if you're buying this just to hop back into your old save, you won't get the full experience. You really need to start a fresh save to experience it all.
