That said I am quite happy with the game so far. I'm ~20 hours in and I believe I am on chapter 9. I've heard there's 19-20 chapters depending on your route, there's multiple. So the length seems good.
Very good gameplay in the sense that normal difficulty feels well balanced. Not brain-dead easy where you just charge in with a overleveled unit that mow down everything with zero tactics. But it is also not frustratingly hard where you have to rely on RNG and BS mechanics. No permadeath on KO units, but the game is also balanced around it.
Story is quite game of throne-esque. I quite like it, there's some genuinely hard decisions to make. They're not black and white, ie: good or evil, but instead a lot more gray.
So you want devs to work 100h per week and for free ? Because saying games should be sold for 30% less means devs should get 30% less money. That's absurd.
Higher game prices don't necessarily translate to devs getting paid more.. Don't spread this misinformation..
I can't say for certain but I think my first playthrough was about 30-35 hours which only included a little bit of grinding out optional maps. There is some replay value due to varying choices which includes different maps and objectives but for the most part as well as different characters and endings. One of the endings has a bit more to it than the other 3 so if you don't get it the first time through that's a bit more reason to play it again. I think it takes 3 playthroughs to unlock all the characters and 4 for all the endings, though you'll see most of what the game has in the first and almost all the rest on a second.
All said, I did enjoy it a fair bit. It's not as in-depth as other similar games but what it does I think it does relatively well.
I agree 60 bucks is too much and said as much in this forum a few times. Which is why I also bought it for 42 and not 60. ;)
No wonder theres under 1000 players online. How is this a good business model? Shouldnt this be $40 and get us hyped for Triangle 2 or something? Maybe an expansion? This isnt hard.
The game is a mere seven months old. Why would they lower the price by $20 or hype a non-existent sequel?
You mean "many regurgitated Western AAA games". Certainly not a unique SQEX game.
Although in general I'd like to see modern releases dropped to 40.
They still don't cut their titles more than 50% in any "sale" I've seen. Even games like Chrono Trigger from the 90s only 50% cut, they are insane.
