Not as good as FF Tactics', but better than Octopath Traveler's.
Should also note the story doesn't really pick up until the 4th chapter, first three are basically an extended three-hour prologue establishing characters

I'm currently in Chapter 7 and really like the story so far. It's true that the first few chapters can feel a bit slow as the world and characters are introduced but personally I was never bored.

Apples are better than peers but we shouldn't forget about oranges.

Story is good. Not boring.

Very Good, comparable with FF Tactics Lions War or Tactics Ogre KoL or LoCT.
However, nearest comes Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones - if you don't like this, better skip.

Given that 99% of all stories in PC games net out to a black and white good vs evil with all player decisions resolving in the same binary fashion, I'm rather happy to find this story and game decisions clear that rather low bar.

Thanks, guys! I think I will give it a try.

Like FFT or Game of Thrones, the story is heavily inspired by the real world War of the Roses and similar conflicts in medieval Europe. Game of Thrones is a pretty apt comparison, though it's more of a PG-13 version of GoT.

One big plus that puts it above a lot of other stories like this: the choices in this game are genuinely not black and white "be a good guy or be a bad guy" style choices. There is genuine nuance and ambiguity. Some decisions are weightier than others, but all have moral upsides and downsides.

It's pretty good, not FFT or Tactics Ogre but its good. Like Tactics Ogre it has branching paths which make it replayable too.

Speaking Tactics Ogre get that when its out in November on PC. It's the best Tactics game ever imo.

Its an amazing story. The choices are genuinely tough to make
