I'm not going to spoil anything, but why would revealing "that" help with anything?! That'd actually be even more reason for Hyzant to kill them!
Also, the fact that they're dancing around the obvious "big reveal" of what they found in the mine is just ridiculous!
As for the voting system, is perfect. You can always take the choice you want even if you lack points if you are smart enough about dialogue and voting. The only exception is the Golden Route, which is meant to be played in New Game + anyways. As for Hyzant I won't spoil it, but if you go the other route you would get it. A lot of the twist and big reveals are actually real hard to predict unless you are playing with a guide, and after you beat the game once you understand there is a lot, A LOT, of lore that requires playing multiple routes to even attempt to understand it.
Also, whether the characters would always accept his decisions or not is irrelevant to the fact that the voting system removes players' agency. An in-game justification (whether real or presumed) is irrelevant when considering the external outcome of its implementation. Supposing that it's true (there's nothing that actually proves it, but let's suppose that there is), that's simply a problem created by the developers.
Next time create a world where the supposed leader of your team can actually take meaningful decisions during the game and not just at the end!
By the way, this is a world with a political system that takes inspiration from medieval Europe. Its political system is based on Lords and Kings and I'm supposed to believe that my vassals/allies would not follow my decisions?!
Like I said, for example, Corentin's discovery of ice that never melts would actually be far superior to salt for its most important (supposedly) use.
Salt is literally essential to all living things. Everything from medicine to food needs salt.
None of these characters have any power. Frederica is basically exiled from Aesfrost, Benedict is Seranoa's advisor, and Roland is being hunted. Seranoa is supposed to be leading Wolfort but instead of making a single decision he's like "IDK guys, bring out the scales!".
"What should I have for dinner". SCALES.
"Should i go for a walk"? SCALES.
You guys just reminded me why i stopped playing for awhile lol.
