It's the "3D" effect of the camera. Everything that isn't dead center gets blurred. It's literally just a depth of field blur with a static focal point. It just makes everything look out of focus to me. I keep trying to squint at it to fix it lol.
I guess you just prefer spending your time making passive aggressive comments to strangers?
Wait, I recognize you, you are that dude who hates TO: Reborn due to no grinding!
Yeah I ended up refunding TO and going with Fell Seal instead. :P After all it's not like I couldn't just play it on an SNES emuIator. I like my grinding, and my crisp pixels what can I say. I still prefer the look of a lot of SNES/2D PS1 games to most of what comes out these days. All the lighting effects/camera blurs/ect just kill it for me.
Also have never liked enforced level caps in games.
Triangle Strategy to me looks weird in the same way Link's Awakening on the Switch looks weird. Something about it looks like blurry renditions of plastic miniatures randomly tossed into more detailed backgrounds, with some overdone (and imho tacky) camera effects. It looks so disjointed to me. None of the visual elements of the game seem to belong together.
Honestly one of the few games I've turned down on graphics alone... and I've played ASCII rogue-likes and started on games like ZORK for crying out loud. Sad part is if it just looked like a late era SNES game but with 16:9 support.. I'd probably buy it lol.
