Am I the only one that actually hates this art style?
I keep getting this and other similar titles recommended to me by people, but I find the blurry sprites just hideous compared to just plain old school crisp sprite art.

It reminds me so much of the Depth of Field setting that I instantly turn off on every single FPS game. Causes so much eye strain for me. Just looking at videos of the game makes me squint.

Blurry Sprites? Looked Crisp/Sharp when I played. I loved this design.

It's the "3D" effect of the camera. Everything that isn't dead center gets blurred. It's literally just a depth of field blur with a static focal point. It just makes everything look out of focus to me. I keep trying to squint at it to fix it lol.

Am I the only one who doesn't spend their time talking about things they hate?

I guess you just prefer spending your time making passive aggressive comments to strangers?

Love the style, kind of wished they used this style on the Tactics Ogre remaster. It would have been beautiful.
Don't play it then?

I mean I didn't buy it. :) After trying Octopath that blurry DoF filter gave me a headache.

I actually really disliked it at first, I never played Octopath which shares a similar art style. But after putting like 20 hours into the game so far i've grown accustomed to it and like it more now.

You can just turn off that effect. I'm not sure why anyone would like the effect since it is equivalent to playing on a tiny monitor at low resolution since much of the screen becomes no better than a black boundary. I could cover part of my screen with cardboard and it would look better than having everything blurry around the sides. Luckily, you can just turn off so not a big deal. If someone likes is, they can leave it on. You can also customize graphics more with the Unreal engine settings in some text files.

Ahh I was not aware you could turn it off. Was actually a major part of why I hadn't considered buying the game.

Game looks friggin' beautiful yo.
Wait, I recognize you, you are that dude who hates TO: Reborn due to no grinding!

Tbh Live a Live has the best of this art style that I've seen, Octopath second, and this game third. I love the style but yes, there is blurriness in this game that doesn't exist in Live a Live and slightly exists in Octopath. I don't hate it but it's a bit odd to look at sometimes.

Yes, I hope Triangle Strategy 2, if we get one, comes with a big graphics improvement, rather than simply continues with first generation 2D-HD graphics.

Yeah I ended up refunding TO and going with Fell Seal instead. :P After all it's not like I couldn't just play it on an SNES emuIator. I like my grinding, and my crisp pixels what can I say. I still prefer the look of a lot of SNES/2D PS1 games to most of what comes out these days. All the lighting effects/camera blurs/ect just kill it for me.

Also have never liked enforced level caps in games.

Triangle Strategy to me looks weird in the same way Link's Awakening on the Switch looks weird. Something about it looks like blurry renditions of plastic miniatures randomly tossed into more detailed backgrounds, with some overdone (and imho tacky) camera effects. It looks so disjointed to me. None of the visual elements of the game seem to belong together.

Honestly one of the few games I've turned down on graphics alone... and I've played ASCII rogue-likes and started on games like ZORK for crying out loud. Sad part is if it just looked like a late era SNES game but with 16:9 support.. I'd probably buy it lol.
