Despite these design issues, the game still proves to be massively fun.
That is exactly what i think. Is it worth the money - yes. Because i always come back to play through. That is not what every game is able to do with my motivation.
So yes, it is a good game. But it has issues that could have been solved easily. Thats whats the most annoying thing here.
You can suggest changes on their discord server. It is very likely they will implement them or make them optional if it is easy to do.
I must admit that I think it would have been nice if many of these issues had been ironed out prior to release. Possibly during some kind of "QA" or "beta test" stage, if not during the original development phase.
Sometimes the devs have their own vision what their game should be like. Obviously not everything always works out.
Its telling you to run at the gap. you jump automatically.
So press your right stick in to run, then carry on running, you will jump when needed too.
The instructions are confusing as it makes you think you need to press the thumb stick to jump. but you dont.
So basically
See gap that needs to be jumped.
Press thumb stick to run. carry on running and let it jump automatically for you. DO NOT PRESS THE THUMB STICK AGAIN as that cancels the run, which cancels the jump.
Is there toggleable running option now in game's settings? IIRC the last time I had to keep the thumbstick pressed to be able to run. And I mentioned that they should make an option to make it toggleable as it may help to avoid potential drifting issues.
Also I am not sure if people know about it. In running mode a player can do side and backward jumps to avoid attacks.
I think TheAgent may have misread one or more of the earlier posts but those sideways and backward jumps always surprise me - and, I think, the xenos!
No, that's dodging, not jumping, the OP is on about the "jump" mechanics, to jump gaps.
I just press the stick in once and im in run mode. so i guess so.
To me it looks like jumping or you can say dodging in a form of jumping. It only can be done in a running mode.
Yes, jumping works automatically in this mode. Even if there are small bumps on the ground, a character jumps over them.
Yes, and Kordelas added sideways & backwards "leaps" to the conversation. Or call them jumps if you like, or dodges, or blue flamingos for all I care 🙄, we all know they are a separate (while related) fast-acting mechanic to the "forward jump" mechanic that the OP was complaining about, not - I feel- without some validity.
You were telling the OP that all they need to do is... exactly what the OP was complaining about.
My man, it is absolutely crazy to see you here, still running damage control for this horrible game and horrible company. Same with Temps fellow. If the studio is not paying you, they should.
Ahh, an Alien Isolation agent. This explains it all.
ofc its me. I've been trying to tell you long before release that this game has all the red flags imaginable and that releasing this in VR only will be very bad for the companies involved. What is your opinion on the current games situation with huge majority of AAA titles failing. Do you think a studio that focuses on very niche sector in this environment can survive for long?
And what do you think about the blatant bait and switch the developers did with releasing half finished game, then after release labeling it "PART ONE". I just checked the Waybackmachine, and indeed. That is what happened. You can clearly see that prior to release, there was no mention of this being only a part of something. Then no records on release date and on December 20th 2024, you can see labels "PART ONE" posted everywhere, as if it was customers mistake for not knowing this before preordering. Tell me, how is this not a scam move? And do you think the game would sell same or similar numbers if customers were aware this is changing to be a part of series, where there are no guarantees the sequel will ever come out? I think they did this on purpose. Another similar disapointment for me was Stalker 2. And guess what - the very same scam strategies employed by GSC Game World as Survios used here. False advertisement, then after release change description to hide removed features. I'd hate if this approach to game marketing would spread even further. Wouldn't you agree?
There is no reason to present my arguments again. You can find them in other threads and see conclusions as well. You repeating your old ones is not bringing anything new to a subject or changing the conclusions.
