Is that supposed to be satire?
This game looks so bad I wouldn't buy it even as a massive Aliens fan... or rather, because I'm a massive Aliens fan.

The visuals and design are pretty bad, and I really don't see where it resembles the "Aliens movie feeling" people are talking about.
Not a single thing in this game looks or feels like the movie. It's honestly impressive how they managed to miss the mark when even the old AvP games captured the atmosphere better.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just doesn't give me the feeling.
You can see the design elements they took from the movies, but somehow it all looks and feels wrong.

That low-quality plastic look can't even compete with the 9-year-old Alien: Isolation, a game you can even mod for VR.
It’s also so arcade-ish that the aliens come across as laughably bad instead of scary.
The acid blood seems to barely matter, even after taking multiple "showers," and facehuggers seem more like an annoyance than an actual threat.
You can just pull them off with one hand and shoot them with the other.
Seems like the "strong female character" in this game is stronger than the two Marines it took to get a facehugger off Ripley's face.
And only 3 weapons not even the smart gun? In an "Aliens" Game... Seriously?

Honestly, I'd rather play a VR port of AvP 2010 than this game.

I doubt that you are a massive Aliens fan because this game is the most immersive Aliens 1986 like experience there is out there.

You likely just watched some videos of projection of this game on flat screen which are much, much worse than what is experienced through VR.

No AvP game is even close to it.

Hahahaha, and this a proof of what I said:
"That low-quality plastic look can't even compete with the 9-year-old Alien: Isolation, a game you can even mod for VR."

"plastic look"
Alien Isolation is very simplistic game and projecting it into VR does not make it better. It is still a walking and hiding simulator with a simple algorithm tethered invincible Xeno.

Actually it is as scary as Aliens 1986 movie. You clearly did not play it without a motion tracker. So you do not know how it is. And even with motion tracker you are unable as a player to constantly check all positions all the time.
There is a reason why it is a video game and not a simulator of the movie. If they made it a way that a player is killed right away, then the game would become too annoying and unplayable. That is why you can survive Facehuggers. And not just constantly restarting the game from the last save state.

Yes, 3 weapons. More than necessary for survival horror game, but not enough to have a power trip. And it is a game in Alien universe that borrows elements from the franchise. Not just "Aliens" game.

AvP2010 was not even good as a CoD clone with AvP theme (based on AvP movie aesthetics) when it was released.

You just should admit that you do not have a VR system to play this game. Instead of attacking it due to an FOMO effect.

Sorry buddy, but I’ve been playing VR since the HTC Vive launched in 2016, and I upgraded to a Valve Index in 2020. I know my way around motion controllers. And I love Aliens. Alien is good too, but I watched Aliens way more often growing up. It’s one of the best classic sci-fi movies of all time.
I don’t know if you’re just a Survios studio fanboy or maybe even from the studio itself, but trying to defend this game with mental gymnastics won’t make it good.

I mean seriously, put Alien: Isolation and Alien: Rogue Incursion side by side, and you can’t deny that Isolation has way more detail and way more love for the atmosphere and design of Alien.
And yes, Alien: Isolation is closer to Alien than Aliens, but they even reconstructed the Nostromo interior with incredible accuracy.

What I’m talking about is the atmosphere and quality of Rogue — it’s just not where an Aliens game should be.

Also, I get that it’s a game and it shouldn’t be hardcore "death-by-one-wrong-step" realism, but like I said before, AvP just did it better.
In AvP 2010, Aliens are actually scary, lurking in the dark, crawling fast all over the place. And even with dated graphics, they still managed to capture the visuals and atmosphere of the Aliens movie.

"Borrows elements from the franchise"? You play an ex-Marine... getting a smartgun or a flamethrower with limited ammo shouldn’t be a problem, and it wouldn’t suddenly turn it into just another Aliens game.

And why are you even comparing AvP 2010 to Call of Duty? Besides shooting weapons, they have nothing in common.

All in all, I’d rather play After the Fall or reinstall Lone Echo before buying Alien: Rogue Incursion.
To be honest, it is really amazing to the point that for me it is best game released in 2024. I had to wait to play this untill I bought 4070 Super becasue it is very demanding performance wise. Geometry details and lighting for VR standards is top notch (although dynamic shadows are missing). I have only one serious issue here - really low resolution textures to the point that in some places it look like a bug. I can't believe they could left it as it is on purpose and it uses only around 7-8 GB of video memory. But whole implementation of VR mechanics with full body IK, lots of interactive props, satysfying reloading and shooting with simple puzzles is so good that with it's atmosphere and amazing soundtrack made that I am saying all of this.
And it beats Alien Isolation because it comes with 6 dof and all mechanics I mentioned which unfortunatelly Mother VR mod lacks.

Best game released in 2024? How low are your standards?
It’s pretty bad when you need a 4070 Super just to run it, while the better-looking Alien: Isolation with a VR mod runs smoothly on a 1070 and perfectly on a 2070.
Geometry detail and visuals in general are far from top-notch.
The MotherVR mod for Alien: Isolation is sadly just that, a mod.
A proper VR version would easily beat Rogue in both quality and gameplay, but it’s hard to compare directly since one is more of a shooter and the other is more of an escape room-like experience.

I could ask you the same. I played most of PC VR games avaliable on Steam so pretty much I can tell how low or high are my standards. I was running Isolation on 3060 laptop and could not run Rogue on it, so here I can agree. But system requirements, even if unreasonable not make it bad game. Not sure if you even tried it and I have my opinion after finishing whole game, not watching yt videos or reading comments of other people.

Sorry, but if reviews and playthroughs already show me plenty of reasons why I wouldn’t like it, I’m not giving them money for it.
Like I said, the visuals are underwhelming, the AI of the Aliens is horrible, and the gameplay looks arcade-like in a bad way.
Saying it captures the feeling of the Aliens movie honestly feels insulting to me, especially when older games managed to do it way better

Anyone still using a Valve Index in 2025 should instantly be ignored. Obsolete tech.

We even have three VR systems in my family. I use an Index, my son has a Pico 4, and my wife uses a Quest 3 — and seriously, I’m very happy with the Index.
Every headset that relies on wireless or streaming is already a step down compared to a full PC headset, but then you also get all the extra problems with their software.
I can’t even count how often the Quest had issues just trying to connect, or how often we had to sit and wait for it to finish another update.
The Pico is okay-ish, but like all headsets without base stations, it struggles with tracking anything behind you. It was pretty bad trying to play Echo Arena when you needed to hold on to something behind your back.
Sure, the Index cable can be a little annoying sometimes, but overall I have way fewer problems with it than with the other systems and I even use it together with full body trackers.

Hahahaha, you like Aliens 1986 more yet you dis this game without playing it.

FYI I am a fan of good products. And you failed to refute my arguments by pointing out any logical fallacy or cognitive bias. Thus your claim of me doing mental gymnastics does not hold water.

You using VR since 2016 does not change a fact that ARI is a great VR Aliens like game.

Yes, I put AI and ARI next to each other and AI is still a boring walking and hiding simulator like it was in 2014. Cinematics won't change it. Nostromo with its uncool design and narrow corridors won't change it.
ARI also has a ship from Alien Convenant movie and it is incredibly accurate.
ARI is more deatiled than AI and has way more love for the atmosphere and design of Aliens.

ARI has awesome atmosphere. The best in Aliens like games so far. Maybe Part 2 of it will have even better one. But Part 1 of it is on the top at this moment.

No AvP game did better. AvP'10 is a boring CoD clone. It does not have tension of ARI at all. And it is based on aesthetics of AvP movie (pyramid, xenos, predators) mixed with futuristic versions of elements from Aliens 1986. ARI has the best Xeno Warriors. They are agile and towering over you. Not some small dwarves like in previous games.

Yes, you play as an ex-marine. Other 30 years before events of Aliens. This game is not about giving you about power trip but about survivor horror. Games like Jag's AvP, classic Resident Evil, classic Silent Hill and classic Dead Space are about this too. It has metroidvania like structure too.

Because AvP'10 is a clone of CoD. A linear SP campaign. It does not have anything fresh about it.

You can play any game you want but saying of being Aliens fan and dissing this game is illogical.

Those textures really might be a bug if they do not match artistically other textures. Also some assets might not load on time and there are places with z-buffering issue.

Oh, wow. Much, much less demanding runs smoothly on less demanding hardware. What a surprise.
A boring walking and hiding simulator won't beat it ARI at all.
