Performance Boost Question.
Loving the game so far, I have it on PC, using the Quest 3. I'm using the Meta Link app. Overall, it plays good, but I noticed I have to turn off the shadows for it to play stable. The shadows are the cool light beams you see in the game, which adds to the overall visual atmosphere, not a big deal, but I would like to max the game out with higher resolution, and stable fps.

My specs is AMD Ryzen 9 3950x, XFX 7900 20gb, 32 gb ram, I have the settings on epic, expect for shadows that are turned off. Plays around 70-90fps, on 3200x1720res. If I turn shadows on, the fps drops massively in certain areas, and the game becomes unstable.

Many have said to use virtual desktop.

My question, is buying virtual desktop worth it for PCVR? Will I get better performance, visuals, and fps boost if I use it for Alien Rogue Incursion?

I don't know about this exact game, but overall I believe the Virtual Desktop is the best soft for PCVR now.
User-friendly UI, better picture quality and easier configuration. Where you have stuttering with Air-Link, VD is flawless. It is very easy to change codec or bitrate to meet your needs.
I use it via SteamVR it works better and more practical for me the only downside is you dont have a default button for the options menu from the game... and you always get a warning message that is annoying each time u start the game that it needs OpenXR Runtime to work properly. This game needs some patches to iron these things out. It did give me better performance because you can set the headset resolution closer to the native resolution of the Quest 3. I do not use the virtual desktop app because all my pcvr games work great without so i dont see the need to pay the price for that app.

I don't know if it's only Virtual Desktop but this game will run like trash when i boot into the game or load a save game UNTIL i Alt + Enter to minimize the window, then it runs smooth as silk. If i reload i have to Alt +Enter to fullscreen and back to minimized. I also set the priority to High for Midnight and Midnight-Win64-Shipping in Task Manager Details tab.

Question for those transversal areas, where the stuttering goes nuts, is it possible to force the game in the config files to pre-load all the areas in the game, so it stops stuttering whenever entering a new area?

Hopefully that makes sense.

Maybe. But there are no hardware resources for it.
Probably the best option would be asynchronous shader compilation.
Or if there was a user option for precompiling shaders
