Flashlight Cast Shadows Mod

It would be my first mod ever.

Because of where the light is placed I had to turn off shadow casting by the shoulder lamp and... the head.
So you ll notice that the shadow of your character doesn't have a head but it's normal (lol).

Just unrar the folder in the main game directory.

This is already so much more immersive. Amazing! But I had some random crashes after I installed the mod. Not dramatically but it happened a few times.

Hello, Thanks for the mod!!

After install the mod, the game crash and goes back to the desktop. Sometimes it is possible to reach the Main menu, but when trying to load a save the game crashes. Tryied with virtual desktop and cable link.

My first attempt to launch didnt work, but has been working again since after I rebooted. Not sure, but it's working and the logs show me its hooking the toggle flashlight function. It works awesome!!!

I managed to get the game running with every setting set to their max, pixel density at 1.0, TAA, and no resolution scaling. TSR is a massive performance hit and looks worse. TAA works best.

And the flashlight is awesome now. Get shadows from the guns and motion sensor like you should. Its great!!

I have a Ryzen 5900X, 32GB DDR4 and ASUS TUF 4090, and using the HTC Vive Pro 2. I'm now replaying with this mod, and spending time exploring after being scared and just racing through my first play-through ;-)

Yeah same here. Game crashes on launch now. I got into the menu and loaded a game but then crashed.

Then won’t even launch at all. Just like you describe.

Yeah, just a reboot fixed it for me. The initial issue was I'd launch the game my monitor would go black and in the headset I'd see the usual SteamVR pop-up that the game is loading, but it would not actually start. I tried maybe 3 or 4 times, then just rebooted.

I didn't think to check the UESS4.log back then, but now I can see this in it:

"[RegisterHook] Registered script hook (1, 1) for Function /Game/Player/GA/GA_ToggleFlashlight.GA_ToggleFlashlight_C:ExecuteUbergraph_GA_ToggleFlashlight"

This seems to indicate the mod has successfully hooked the flashlight toggle.

I also have 3 of the 4 mods from nexusmods installed (all except the invulnerability one) and they work also. They're just PAK files.

Sorry I can't give more details. I don't do anything special like running Steam or Rogue Incursion as administrator. It's just working now.

I am hoping for a mod to allow the weapons and motion tracker to be held via a toggle and I dont have to keep holding the grips on the controllers.

What sloved it for me, more or less was removing some lines in the enging.ini which I modified to get better LOD, cause in vanilla items pop up and vanish already in a range of 8 meters or less which is supper immersion breaking.

r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.25

solved ther issue for me. At least it won't crash as often. i actually haven't tried again after a pc reboot.

Running the game as administrator is more stable for me.
