Terrible weapon movement lag
I play on Reverb G2 + 4090. The frame time is usually around 7 ms. The game is smooth. There is no lag when I move my hands in the game. But when I move my hands with the gun, there is a terrible lag. It's almost unplayable. Does anyone have the same problem?

"Some VR games do this to try to simulate object mass." I think adding lag to simulate weight of weapon in a game is a pretty bad idea. Especially in the case of a shooter game. It's a similar situation to developers putting mouse lag in a 2D shooter to simulate weight. FPS gamers would be furious for such design decision.

I second this! The simulated weight from weapons and objects is terrible.

Please Dev, remove the weight from the objects.

I am not feeling like a US-Colonial Marine. I am feeling like a drunk Redneck on 4th of July.

I guess they will never changed that otherwise they would have not been dumb enough to make it that way. The don't see the problem and it is HUGE but they are so happy with what they have done, that they will never acknowlegde this is just terrible.

I thought it was input lag at first. I went into the engine.ini to try and fix it.

Agreed its awful choice. Its like bone works but worse. Seriously Alyx had it right

If you use physics to drive the interaction there will always be lag. Ironicly I have tried everything I can to minimize that lag in my game

Yeah I also don't like when they do that to add weight. Only makes sense with melee weapons so you can't just swing super fast with a 2 handed axe. A little smoothing can help with aiming by reducing shaking but that's too much. Still, I got used to it pretty fast it's not a big issue.

This is the nr 1 thing they need to fix! It feels like swimming in a bath of syrop.
It's the biggest flaw why I stopped playing it. You cannot be quick I have to wait for my hand reaching your ammo belt, waiting for your hand to arrive and your gun to reload. Feels so so bad.
They should play some proper vr shooters that have it nailed like into the radius or somerhing.
It's that plus the arcade xeno spawn system every 2 - 3 minutes.
It has great potential, but it needs some optional fixing.

I'm fine with weapons
Maybe there is something wrong with your settings or equipment
Weight in VR is a cool thing... I don't like games like Doom VR where whether you have a small pistol or a big rocket launcher, you move them the same way as if they were made of cardboard

There is nothing wrong with my settings, I played enough vr shooters to know when it feels off for me. It might be ok for you, but not for a lot of people.
A solution would be to make this weird weight system optional in the settings.. everybody happy.
I'm sort of ok with the weapon itself but when you reload and grab a mag and try to put it in your weapon it feels as if you hands are not doing what you want them to do, it feels so bad.
It's just constructive critisism, hoping that they will find a fix.

I feel the same way. The only issue I have is the huge frame spikes. It's like i could run 1.0 res and high settings for 90% of the game no sweat, but that other 10% makes me have to put it all the way down to low settings and .8 res just to keep it smooth. We're not talking little peaks, we're talking mountains.

for me, with 4070 super, only the "dynamic res" option gives me comfort of playing.
I have set res 1.0 but dynamic 50% and sometimes it drops even to 0.6 but in stable 80 fps ;P
I've already finished the game.. brilliant... but I'll play it again when they improve the performance a bit

I agree 100%. I can't play it this way with the weapon movement lag. It's scary enough being jumped by a xenomorph and then hoping you can actually aim at it. Absolutely this should be an optional setting. I too hope the dev's are listening,
I've been doong some testing and I think my main issue is caused by performance drop at key moments. When in a safe room rhe weapon handling is ok and have no real issues with reloading. So the lag I'm experiencing while having to reload under pressure is a performance issue.
I somehow have some serious grame drops now and then and when rhey occur at moments of stress it feels as if it's related to the weight system but it's not.
All in all the performance is not great so hoping for some performence updates.
