Spongy Xenos
So i'm the "hard" difficulty, 1 step above normal. 2 Hits you're dead, but that's not what bugs me. What bugs me is how little the xenos care about getting shot by the pulse rifle. There have been times where unless I hit they "critical zone" They just soak up the bullets and keep coming at me. And then there are the uninterruptible jumping animations. Friggin head shots on a xeno before it jumped at me and well, ♥♥♥♥ me i guess because it just leaped through the hail of bullets to kill me. Like guys, come on. This is not the same experience that came from the fire fights in Aliens.

Now look I get that you don't want the xenos to be just a bunch of sissies that die from a few shots, i'm not asking that. Just have them recognize that I'm actually emptying almost half a mag into them!

So I had to restart and lower the difficulty From Experienced to Balanced, and the difference between the two difficulties is MASSIVE! Xenos actually react to getting shot, and take half the ammunition. I can burst fire instead of just holding down the trigger until they die for any effect.

It took me just about an hour and a half to get to where I was and past, where-as one difficulty level up took me almost 3 and a half hours, and I kept dying trying to just escape the nest.

Also Xenos can apparently just take an exploding barrel to the face with barely a flinch at that difficulty. I mean if that's the "Experienced" level I don't even want to touch insane.

Devs I implore you to go back and re-balance this difficulty. instead of 2x the amount of bullets maybe only 1.5x. Or just leave the ammo scarcity as it is on that difficulty. And for the love of all of the gods fix their reactions especially to being shot by the pulse rifle!

I think the Normal difficulty should be rebalanced so that the Xenomorphs are as fast as they are in Insane but they should also be less bullet spongy than they are now and they should spawn less often (not including scripted, cinematic spawns).

Basically, instead of waves of slow-moving, spongy aliens that move slowly and pause before lunging, there should be the occasional alien that was fast, lunged with less hesitation and required some planning and patience to take down. When you do get a good angle on it though, it should go down more easily, even if it means you shoot more walls and set dressing in the process of trying to hit it.

The game's AI and animations are very good in general, but I think it'd be more exciting and true to the movies if Xenomorphs were faster and hesitated less but could be taken down with a single volley of Plasma rifle rounds or a single shotgun blast to the cranium.

Yeah I think it would be better if instead of just taking hits to the head until they die they jumped away when you hit them and tried to attack you from a different angle and also attacked you faster in general

This is honestly quite an issue to me as, especially on the harder difficulties, it completely takes me out of the immersive experience. Constantly dying to Xenos that don't GAF about a "steel-jacketed and explosive-tipped projectile" does not a good game make.

Exactly what the game needs.

In addition to being spongy, xenos don't seem to react to our shots, apart from interrupting their actions. There's too little physical feedback from our shots; they should be torn apart like in Aliens, or at least repelled. But they just look irritated and covered in flash-green blood until they die and dissolve. Ideally, I'd like to see a dismemberment system like in Arizona Sunshine (with why not half xenos crawling around and continuing to attack us), which would give a more powerful feeling to our shots,

Yes! If the Zeno's reacted more in the directions of being hit would be amazing. The rest of the canned animations for the most part are great. Other than them bugging out occasionally.
