PSVR2 on PC horrid performance
I am getting absolutely horrid performance with PSVR2 on PC with a 4090. I can turn all settings to low, resolution to 70%, still terrible.

I tried my Quest 3 through VD, performance is fine. So it must be an issue specifically with the PSVR2. Devs, please fix this!!!

Yeah it's not good on psvr2 with my 3080 unfortunately locked at 45 fps I'm assuming ssw, which i have completely disabled. Walking around feels smooth enough, but anything i move hands, items etc have that ghost image between, cant stand it. At 45 fps I was around 65- 70% gpu usage. So I can try 60/120, as someone mentioned here says it's pretty smooth. I'll have to try it, but doubt I'll be able to ignore it. With a base of 60 fps maybe.

On the quest 3, wireless VD it runs much better. I did drop vd to 80 fps at the high setting and it holds. But then I can't access the menu, lol.

You are right. im on regular 4070. Even with 60/120 reprojection the game cant be stable. The performance its all over the place. Also i cant pause the game either. I have to exit the game everytime i want to change some settings.

I tried the 60/120 tonight and it is ok and stable, but i just dont like re projection. Most might not notice. I was able to almost lock 90, but just not quite so it goes into re projection.

You're using the wrong runtime, you need to use Oculus or VDXR in Virtual Desktop (click it from the runtime dropdown on the desktop app). This is why your performance is bad.

If the menu button on the left controller opens Steam and not the game menu, it's the wrong runtime.

This thread is specific to PSVR2 on PC. Nothing to do with Virtual Desktop.

funny my TUF gaming x670e-e bios version 3057, ryzen 9 7950x3d with AIO with bios cppc setting set to driver, msi suprim 4090 AIO, 48gb ddr5 ram, msi MEG Ai1300p pcie5 psu, crucial 4tb pcie gen 5 m.2, using PSVR2 with adapter on 90hz, with res in steam vr set to 110 percent, motion smoothing off, and the only issue ive had with this game is memory leak issues after 4 hours of gameplay

you just have to make a custom bind for the right option button set as occulus-left-menu, i added that and fixed that issue on my psvr2

Huh.. mind sharing your in-game settings?
For me, I can literally drop Steam SS as low as it will go, like 1500x1500 per eye still bad performance. Maybe there is some other setting affecting performance I am not aware of.

everything defaulted to high, not epic, pixel dens .9, AA is set to taa, dynamic res on set to 70 and target frame rate set to 90 since i have steam vr set to 90hz not 120, turn motion smoothing off in steam vr, i have the render res set to custom at 90%

Still using the wrong runtime with the PSVR 2 by the sounds of it. This game doesn't work well with the SteamVR runtime.
