Cause it's part of the story... I lean if it helps roleplay as if she identifies as he him

Zula is an established character in aliens. She been in several comics (aliens defiance, resistance) and books (aliens prototype, infernos fall). Shes not just someone they made up. They wanted to play off an exisiting character who knows about the aliens and how to fight and ifhts in the universe. This is the equivalent to playing a new Ripley/Hicks, thats why they picked her and Davis. If you cant enjoy a game unless your playing a male character then this isnt for you, but id argue youd likely played other games as a female and still had fun (metroid, perfect dark, tomb raider, diablo, vermin tide, resident evil, etc). So wait for reviews and give it a chance.

They could probably quite easily make *A* game that can identify as either male or female, but not only would they have to pay 2 actors to voice the player character but they would have to create both characters from scratch. Generic grunt A and generic grunt B What they chose to do instead was pick a couple of characters from the Dark Horse comics (and some novels) and base the story around them instead. That provides them with some ready-made lore that should resonate with the literate segment of Alien random.

Zula is an already established character and is in fact a friend of Amanda Ripley.

She’s an established character. Amanda Ripley was too, just like Ellen Ripley. The franchise has a lot of women to actually point to something. That anyone’s just human against Xenomorphs. That should in fact, relieve your worries.

hahaha. "it makes me feel inferior" ... get in the bin.
It's funny how only boys ever complain about having to play as a woman, when we spent years playing as generic action dudes and I rarely ever heard any woman complaining about it.

It's almost as if women are generally more emotionally mature and don't have to deal with idiotic imaginary hang-ups like we do.

Of course we have to play as Shanequa.

I was really upset with the ending of Metroid.

You know women had to exclusively play as "men" in video games for decades? I don't remember hearing them complain. Why are boy gamer so whiny and fragile these days?
