There is no such thing as PCVR. You do a great disservice to community of people who create VR mods and games by putting them under one name. PCVR is not a brand.

Yes, it will. All photos and trailers are taken from the game running on PC.

Those photos you see on store page are touched up in Photoshop. The game looks pretty bad in the video, get real.

I do not see any photoshop touches. Just screen screenshots from the game displayed in 2D mode.
Also the game looks very good aesthetically. Better than AvP'10, ACM and AI. Like they focused more on what should be visible for a player without a need to add augmented reality elements. And not like another highly detailed flat screen game witch looks the same like gazillion of other games. We can clearly see Xenos' body language and their animation is the best so far from all 3D games with Xenos based on trailers.

Not to mention VR games require more processing power than flat screen games on the same level of graphics. Those games are rendered twice, in high resolution and high framerate. So it is better to have a game which focuses on specific graphical style and can be handled great by PS5, Quest 3 and not high end PC, than something which runs with stuttering and generic highly detailed, chaotic graphics.

It can be said that assets likely be better in PC version or at least on the same level as PSVR2 version.

It is a common practice in the industrry to touch up promotional Images for video games. Touch-ups such as removing motion blur and yes, even making the game look better. Just take a look at other games and their promotions.

And you know, saying this game looks good, and comparing it to games which the newest one came out 10 years ago isn't as much of a praise as you think it is :D

I am not sure what games do you have in mind.
In regard to comparisons, there is no other Alien game I can compare it too. Even modded AFTE in first person view looks generic. But it was an issue I already mentioned before.
IMO we do not need the most realistic and the most advanced graphics. Aesthetically pleasing ones and functional is more than enough.

BTW many people say that AI looks better than this game. But somehow I do not see it.

You cant see it because the images you look at are touched up in photoshop :) If you look at video, you will see the dirty-raw footage. That should be your tell how the game will look.

I have seen 4 videos so far from flat screen mode. Graphics in them look like in screenshots.
The game aesthetics look great.

I guess we will have to disagree here, as I've also seen the trailers. The game looks fine, there's nothing wrong with it, but that doesnt mean it doesn't look just a little better then Doom 3.

Take another look at the latest trailer and pause is when theres a scene with a nest. Take in all the details and compare that to nest from Alien Isolation. There is a 10 years difference between these games, yet, Isolation looks 10 times better.

And yeah, look im not gonna provide you with any proof here, I've been around games for a long long time now and I know for certain that promotional images get touched-up. There is no question about it.

I prefer aesthetics of this game than Doom 3's ones. But it is still not known how good is its performance as a VR game. Because if it does not have high requirements and performs well, then I will likely appreciate it even more.

Yes, I looked at the nest and like I said this game aims at specific aesthetics. This is something I like in games more than aesthetics where they just at realism. Not to mention AI is more based on corridors to pull better graphics for its time and there is not much dynamic action in it.

Also if you do not know, VR games have to be rendered twice.

I play games since the 80s. But I do not remember any photoshopped screenshots that mislead me.

Might be that you're not as detail oriented as I am.

Or maybe I am gameplay footage oriented. Also I have a test where no one who says that highly detailed graphics are better can pass it. Just a sheet of paper and black marker. They are not able to see proper contrasts. That is why I prefer graphics that are developed for human perception.
