How do I enable the in-game console?
Just what the title says.

I've tried running the game with the custom line "-console", without quotes, but it didn't work

Can anyone help me?

At the main menu, there should be a button that says something like "download community maps". Click it, and then when that screen loads, click choose the back option, that should take you to the main console menu.

edited for clarity. I was just going off the top of my head instead of opening the game to give precise moves.

How did that help? It doesn't work for me.
I press "Community" button in the main menu and it opens community console-style menu.
And when I press "Back" as you say - I am asked "Do you want to exit to main menu? Yes\No".

No console is opened or prompted to be opened. So how can I get to the console?

Not the back button at the bottom of the screen but the back button in the thing that you've just opened.

You found it. That IS the console.

But that's not the console - it is a community menu. I cannot type any commands there.
Before some patch there was a CONSOLE button instead of COMMUNITY.

Player could enter commands there, login under different usernames, watch secret pictures and information and do other stuff. And now all that that is gone...

You can look more about it, just google "defense grid console" and you will see how much more interactive and functional console was before it was replaced with "community" menu...

So, can anyone help me to get to the old console or confirm that it is totally cut off :'(
