Frantic Mode should be better described
First playthrough when presented with the two options I opted for frantic as I wasnt sure which I'd prefer, but dont mind being time pressured under the right circumstances. But, turns out that it's not about the 'mood' of the game but frantic is rather expert mode, you should already be familiar with the systems and only be using the book as a reference, not to learn. I ended my first day with 100 credits, and my second with -100 falling to -500 the day after.

Wasnt sure about it and maybe thought the game just wasnt for me, but looking at other posts seems like people talking about frantic as it is a difficult mode. Frantic should be better described as 'for people that already know how to repair ships', not for the type of gameplay players are seeking.

I disagree. i bought the game because frantic was the type of gameplay i was seeking from the get go.
Learning on frantic provides the player with the experience of not just learning how to fix modules, but to do so as fast as possible, and the satisfaction of slowly but surely no longer needing the grimoire so you can feel tangible results of your hard work.

Frantic mode isnt 'expert mode', its 'the mode for people who are okay with learning from failure'

id agree with OP on this, for most people, the other mode is better as a first, and then try frantic as a sort of challenge after you already know most systems.

Except you don't learn completely, because the jobs are easier (Due to it being frantic.) The true experience is the focused mode, frantic is just if you want an extra time crunch challenge/can finish jobs quickly for more money in a day, as focused only allows 3 jobs.

I started on frantic and sure, I learned the fixes relatively quickly (Minus the rebreather.) but the amount you have to do without upgrades from the permanent tree in a short time frame, is taxing on you and once you get to the security ship on day 3, it's like a deal breaker for most. That's 4 things you have to mess with in a short time frame and failure, is a new run lol.

I get the whole 'roguelike' aspect of what you're trying to get at but I dont know that gamestyle fits (for a first time player.) The grimoire while cool and stylized, is not a great instruction manual and you kinda have to decipher some meaning from it and that usually takes more time then even a day allows especially when you have to learn multiple new systems in one day. Like the above poster said, rebreather took more then half of a day trying to understand, after disabling security for the first time for me and ended up not completing that one ship.

But hey whatever floats your boat, I just still think the description should include that it is more for people know already know how to repair ships
