Oil always has solids in it?
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong but I consistently get penalized for solids in oil. I buy a completely new canister, i put oil in it, transfer it to the oil module and I get the "solids" penalty every single time.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? :(

If there are solids in the oil at any stage you need to completely flush it and the fill the tank with Cleaner fluid, Empty the fluid into a container and THEN fill with new clean oil

You need to clean out the solids in module by adding cleaner in it before adding fresh oil.

1: Flush oil module
2: Fill with cleaner and remove
3: Add new oil
4: Flush used cleaner
5: Add new cleaner to canister

If cleaner is, duh, clean after removing it from oil tank it can be reused. You can go whole run with same capsule of cleaner and then use it for ascension lol

Just remember that when you empty solids into a canister, even if you empty the canister with the liquid station that canister will be 'tainted', and will need to be flushed with cleaner before it can hold any more oil.

Ah okay now i get it, the canisters become dirty and then they stay dirty, okay i need to figure this out a bit it's difficult :|

I was running into this situation on I think a "Boss" challenge sort of ship- I kept trying to remove the bad oil (Or green goop stuff it used) into a canister to flush it, but the canister just kept exploding when I pulled down the drain lever on the ship?

Any clue what I was missing? I think the pump looked fine and was switched on by me, but maybe it had dents? I'm not sure.

The fluid's too hot. Make sure the heat sink is intact, and use the heat sink button to cool it before draining.

you can clean out the canisters by draining them at the fluid machine and then filling them with cleaner

Yea, I made it a habit to always drain the fluid and flush the oil tank with cleaner.
After the job is done also empty the canister you used for draining the old liquid and then flush that one with cleaner as well.
I do that unless its really obvious that the liquid in the tank doesn´t have clumps.

when taking oil module jobs it's really helpful to grab the checklist at the very start. If it just says "adjust oil to the correct level" then you just need to add oil, no cleaner required. If it says "replace oil" then that means it probably has solids present even if the tank looks empty.
