Can't complete Project Ascension

I'm sure I'm following all the steps...probably. Are any of the instructions incorrect or out of order? Does the cassette only have to be playing when you hit the final switches?

All of the steps are correct, at least I never had an issue with it. The cassette does only need to be playing when you flip the 2 switches.

Do any of the modules besides the cassette ever time out?

I guess I forgot the more important question: can you actually complete it with the provided supplies, or do you need to use all the stuff from the other endings?

None of the modules time out but the lids can close and you have to pay to open them again. The lids don't need to be opened though if you have done everything in the module.

Ending : The ascension ending has 2 routes. The normal is with the items provided and the true end with the items from the other endings. The items from the other endings replace the provided ones except for the scythe witch you still use.

When you are using the items from the other endings do you still have to go through the process of getting the original heart, or do you just use the new items like the old ones don't even exist?

Also for my own sanity, will you know if you did it right, or will the pig still threaten you like you messed up? That is not a dice I would like to roll tbh so once he says the line about messing up, I just quit to the main menu. Any later than that and it immediately saves on a new run, and I'm not making that mistake anymore.

The true ending requires all five items from the other endings; you don't use anything from the supply box, just the soul fragment. I've never tried mixing the two sets but it must just lead to failure or the Chop ending.

You'll know immediately if you did everything correctly.

I'm starting to think something is bugged on my end. I know I don't like jumping to that conclusion but I've seen videos of doing far worse than I have and still getting it to work. Everything is the same, except I've seen somebody really botch scanning the scythe. They forgot the cartridge until after it started scanning, didn't scan anything to 20% and the final section wasn't even complete, and they still didn't fail.

The only sticking point I might have is the cassette tape. You can't really tell if it's playing, (but you can see the tape spinning) the music never changes, and all the buttons seem to work except for rewind, but I can't tell if the tape ever needs to be rewound, it just do it anyway just to be sure.

There really needs to be a more obvious tell if you do something wrong. Most sections are pretty obvious like the phone, or heart so I'm just not sure where the mistake can be if there is one.

For me the tapes have always been ready to play. The music will change when they're playing.

Thanks, I think I managed to figure it out. Oddly enough it was because I was reusing canisters. If they are dirty after using coffee, or blood, I guess they don't show like they do for the rest of the game, and the cleaner doesn't seem to clean it out for the final section. Once I threw them out and bought new ones and filled those with cleaner it worked.

I'm not sure if that was intended, or if it was like that the first time I got the regular ending, but if somebody in the future is stuck like I was, I suppose look there.

Did you empty them in a hurry? They might have had a little coffee or blood still in them. Fluids normally don't dirty a canister unless they have the little floaters in them.

Yeah, I know, and I have always made the habit of cleaning out my oil canisters. It's pretty obvious when they are dirty. I also only fill the, with 50% coffee and blood so I don't have to worry about over filling the heart, so they were definitely empty. I don't know why they were a problem, but it just was.

Having a similar issue, but specifically when i activate the syringe thing with the bullet in place of the syringe, all else being done as directed, and all other ending items used he just says like "ow what are you doing" and kills me. I got it all done right when I did it the normal way with no special items, but now that I'm trying with all the new stuff in place its fussing at me. I tried brand new canisters for the cleaner and triple checked everything else, any idea what I could be doing wrong? Is it the fact that I'm shooting him with a bullet? am i not supposed to? I dunno where else it would go or why else it would slot in there.

That is the right spot for it. Is everything else done besides starting the tape and throwing the two switches?

"ow what are you doing" is played when you've skipped some other step; it could be in any of the modules/ Unfortunately there's no way I could tell you which step is incomplete.

I'll try again while triple checking all of the other modules then, I just got flustered because both times it was the "ow" line which makes me think it has something to do with shooting him with a bullet. so I wanted to check that it really wasnt that before i threw my time into it again
