Struggling to repair Rebreather
I'm struggling to fix the rebreather's gas issue but i cant seem to diagnose it. What I managed to do was:

  • Replaced all the hardware outside of the planet
  • added the efficient amount of slugs and trees (they have stripes but not dots as in the book though)
  • filled the feeder with gnat gas as the scribbled note says

unfortunately, the gas is still unbreathable (blue) and i have no clue how to fix it.
There's also a "core" inside the planet filled with gnat gas from what i can tell but the journal has no documentation of it. anything I can do?

Weird, it works on my end. Did you turn on the module after closing the glass encasement ?

Plus, you need to put several feeder sometimes. As long as the snails are blue, you need to add gnat gas filled feeder until they become red.

Yep, still resulted in blue gas unfortunately.

Like having more than one feeder? i thought just one would be okay. the snails seemed healthy enough when i bought them from the merchant, and stayed healthy when i put them on the planet -- body color was fine, shell color was fine, only discrepancy i could see was that the shells had horizontal stripes instead of the dots shown in the journal, which indicates healthy foliage amount. i had the recommended amount of trees and even more in fact, so I kind of assumed that the stripes were meant to be the dots. Zero clue if thats the case though.

Did you check the pump and filter? Are they vibrating?
PTGPOGGERS Jun 14, 2024 @ 4:49pm
also, it could be an improper honks pancake problem before using the the machine first check and see if the stacks are stacked evenly
there is a chapter in the book that goes deep into this stuff hopefully I can be of help
also, u need lots of foliage and 2- 3 snails the strips come from proper food to ensure that the device the food is in is functional fill the top with GNAT after placement of new foliage and new food canister if it still is not working check for errors such as cracked gas tube below the pump (filter small piece easy to miss) or broken filter(or off as in many cases it will be off) if the globe itself is spinning crazy please use the honks pancake machine if that all fails im not really sure

Just had this exact problem. My problem turned out to be I had three snails installed but it can actually only handle 2. Like I think you're looking for two trees per snail.

pump was vibrating, yea. all the components not involving the planet were functioning properly.

didnt know there was a ratio of snails to trees but i'll try it and report what happens

Is there a way to stop the planet?

There is no way to fully stop the planet but if the pancake is correct then it will rotate slowly and you will be able to move it around by clicking and dragging.

I've noticed that the feeders cannot be 100% full, they need to be a teeny itty bit bit below full. I struggled with this as well; I only figured it out because the book has a min and max line for the feeder, which I figured didn't make sense if you could just 100% fill it. The snails also need to have dots to indicated adequate foliage.

You should refill the canisters with red gas on the station where you get oil. There are switch somwhere, which changes the station's panel from liquids to gases. Also don't forget to empty canisters on the same station before refilling.
There are several issues with repairing this. The Moo Mo disk must exist, otherwise the planet will spin wildly. Before continuing with the repair, you must first fix this issue. The second step is to check whether the air pump and filter are present or damaged, and whether all heating wires in the upper right corner are emitting light. If not, please replace it. If all the above functions are turned on correctly, the air pump will gradually turn red, and the other air pump is actually a liquid tank, so you don't need to add any liquid to it to use it. At this point, you can open the planet to check for snail issues. It actually only requires a feeder (add half of the nutrient solution and discard the excess), observe the color of the leaves, and it is recommended to install all the remaining sockets except for the feeder with leaves. Check the health status of snails (please refer to the colors in the book). Everything necessary to properly repair it will produce blue light and mist on the surface of the Earth.

You're looking for the "foot" of the snail to turn blue with correct feed, there will still be a blue portion under the shell in their optimal state. Your problem is at very least the "no dots" - you need to add or replace trees until there are four green, just like the Fine Manual says. (Also check filter, pump, heater coil, and Honk Pancake blinkenlight)

I had this problem and two snails was the fix. I only found this out accidentally and was stuck for 30 minutes banging my head against a wall.

The trees can be dead. Dead trees are a darker color than living trees.

I don't bother using the snails to diagnose issues. I just take a quick look at the planet to see if there's the correct number of snails and trees, make sure the trees are alive, and make sure there's food in the feeder(you only need one).

Also, don't open the glass in front of the planet if it's spinning super fast. All the stuff on the planet will get thrown free and you'll have to replace EVERYTHING. Fix the pancake first, I learned that one the hard way.
