Like having more than one feeder? i thought just one would be okay. the snails seemed healthy enough when i bought them from the merchant, and stayed healthy when i put them on the planet -- body color was fine, shell color was fine, only discrepancy i could see was that the shells had horizontal stripes instead of the dots shown in the journal, which indicates healthy foliage amount. i had the recommended amount of trees and even more in fact, so I kind of assumed that the stripes were meant to be the dots. Zero clue if thats the case though.
there is a chapter in the book that goes deep into this stuff hopefully I can be of help
also, u need lots of foliage and 2- 3 snails the strips come from proper food to ensure that the device the food is in is functional fill the top with GNAT after placement of new foliage and new food canister if it still is not working check for errors such as cracked gas tube below the pump (filter small piece easy to miss) or broken filter(or off as in many cases it will be off) if the globe itself is spinning crazy please use the honks pancake machine if that all fails im not really sure
didnt know there was a ratio of snails to trees but i'll try it and report what happens
There is no way to fully stop the planet but if the pancake is correct then it will rotate slowly and you will be able to move it around by clicking and dragging.
I don't bother using the snails to diagnose issues. I just take a quick look at the planet to see if there's the correct number of snails and trees, make sure the trees are alive, and make sure there's food in the feeder(you only need one).
Also, don't open the glass in front of the planet if it's spinning super fast. All the stuff on the planet will get thrown free and you'll have to replace EVERYTHING. Fix the pancake first, I learned that one the hard way.
