ELI5 project ascension

Either I'm really dumb or it is an honestly ridiculous difficulty jump all of a sudden? I know you can alt+f4 and retry over and over but it feels like there'll never be enough money to last long enough. You get the pages as the timer starts so not a chance to even study them ahead of time. Below is just a rant at this point but at least if there's some giant light bulb moment that I could be pointed to, i'd appreaciate.

It takes so long to get there (first time I did make it, my run just got dumped in the garbage because there is no warning whatsoever that the empyrean (or all of them) just kills your run before you can do day 9, which is also ridiculous. An "ending" should be at the end, not the in the middle of a run, but I digress)

So I finally get there and this is how it went.
-Couldn't find the calibration terminal because it's not called that.
-Wasted a good minute on the gem because I never encountered them before? Try sticking it in. Doesn't work. Try to yellow wire in my tools (that I've also never used) because there is the yellow border all around. There's no symbol so who knows if there's a clue in the book. I did (try to) grab the knob at the top a good 10 times before it finally caught on.
-Wasted another minute trying to scroll that scroll wheel that somehow has 0 mouse sensitivity.
-Finally makes it to another page! "enter the phone number from the crate" what crate? There's no crate. I have a phone number on a business card on the time-in-time-out machine but that's not a crate. There's 2 crates on the right that I can't access because they have other crates on them of them with gizmos to open them, that I also have never seen and no symbol on them so no clue where to look.

At this point i'm 3 pages in a 20 pages adventure with about a minute left and 800ish coins. Can't even early quit because the bell is destroyed, so I just started typing out this rant instead.

try purchasing chunky and money tree early in your run, you can also purchase side car if youre not confident in the choices youll be given. you can go into debt purchasing upgrades however you wont be able to extend the day if youre in negative balance so be careful. if you know what youre doing and you play with both those you can easily hit 15k for project ascension.
The crates on the side need to be opened with the ratchet before you insert money to open them. if you want to early quit you can just pull the levers in place of the bell and fail.

Spoilers: if youve completed all the alternate endings and gotten all the items required for the true ending, youre allowed to study project ascension at your leisure from day one.

This is the kind of game where you really need to study the Grimoire. And like Daff said, you can easily have basically unlimited time by having tons of cash.

Don't try to brute force through to Ascension as fast as possible, master everything before that first, learn how to use things like gems (yes, it is in the Grimoire, see FTL section). Also I highly recommend grabbing a PDF of the Grimoire and reading it out of game.

If you don't mind cheesing a little, you can also just practice on Ascension day. Focus on one or two modules, just do those, then quit to menu when time is low. That lets you restart the day. You can do this as many times as you want.

The goal is not to finish the ritual, instead to learn how each part works without time pressure. Then when you want to do it for real on a later run, you'll have no trouble.

I recommend save-scumming to re-try modules until you get it. The game is actually quite shallow as modules aren't technically that complicated, it's just daunting at first and there's a lot of minute details designed to kill you because '♥♥♥♥ you.' Once you 'get it' you can complete them reliably.
Your save files are located (on Windows) at User/AppData/Local/SpaceGarage/Saved. I highly encourage you to save your files every morning (dying instantly deletes them). You can even make files with specific days saved like a real game.
Also, just stop using Frantic mode. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥.

Hii, right now I am playing in Frantic Fixing, is there a way to extend the time of the repair for Project Ascencion? 8 minutes seem so few considering that there is a VR Segment in these

once you run out of time, if you have money uncle chop starts automatically subtracting 10$ a second.

Good to know thanks!! I have been scum saving the day because I was too lazy to start over the run lol
