What genre is the music?
What's the name for the genre of music for this game's soundtrack?

I've had a few games with this musical genre and... tbh, Uncle Chop's got me wanting more music like this.

Looked this up the other day, apparently Americana music gets you close.
Blends American musical traditions, including folk, country, blues, soul, bluegrass, gospel, and rock per internet search

Sidenote, if you haven't played it, Hardspace Shipbreaker has similar music.

It's a lot like swamp rock by groups like Blues Saraceno, which you can hear in the Rebel Galaxy games.

Rebel Galaxy was the other game I was mainly thinking of in this "genre".

Thanks folks! That gives me more stuff to look up :D

Like the rest here said, Americana is close, but you might consider this music neighbouring or being a bit of Dark Country.
Indeed beautiful soundtrack.

Hey, just following up on this question since I've also become a recent fan of this genre - Some people describe this as Southern Gothic Folk, or even Neo Bluegrass. Like the others, I think Americana is a good descriptor, since it generates cool search results from other slappin' soundtracks, like Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Red Dead, Firewatch, and even a Firefly tribute album called "Music to Smuggle By"by David Joseph Wesley, which is sublime. Happy listening :D
