This game is super confusing...help :c

There's so many systems, and sure there's a guide? But it barely helps, and if anything creates more questions. If anyone knows of a good tutorial video? Or tips for these? Because I enjoy the game, but I have almost 4hrs and I feel like I barely understand what I'm doing aside from a few systems.

1. Fixing VR, with the "switches to adjust the progress bar" before you can hit the GO button. The guide says to adjust the switches based on the progress bar, but the second I hit a switch it completely resets the progress?

2. AI, I'm assuming because there's a missing pancaker that there's no power to the whole system? But if that's the case it never said I should order a pancaker machine so I didn't think of it until I didn't see it in the shop.

3. I cannot crack the safe at all, going incredibly slow with it and i go right get a tick, go left get a tick, go back right and all the sudden i'm losing 1 of my 3 chances. What am I doing wrong?

I've found a few videos of how to do things, but there's circumstances like 2, where the pancaker is missing so idt I can even do that one. Or with the VR, they hit all 4 switches and boom power restored, but it doesn't work for me...

Any help is greatly appreciated, digging the game, but need to get a grasp on things first T__T

The safe is pretty simple. Turn it right until it clicks, then left, then right. The trick is to go slow

For the four switches to activate VR, you can't just flip them all right away. If you go too fast or too slow, it'll reset and you have to start over. That's what the guide is explaining with the pictures; you flip the first switch, then flip the second when the bar is ~25 percent full, the third when it is ~50 percent full, and the fourth when it is ~75 percent full.
