Broken FFB or physics after update 1.4?
Cars on tarmac are unstable and handle very poorly. It looks like a problem with Deadzone, steering linearity or centering forces. When I let go of the steering wheel, it starts oscillating from left to right and the car is completely unstable.
My FFB setup is OK.
After the update I calibrated the steering wheel, reset the FFB settings, restarted the game, the steam client and the PC. But the problem still continue. Everything worked perfectly until the update. My steering wheel is Thrustmaster T500RS, all drivers are updated.
Does anyone have the same problem?

It feels like some forces in FFB are inverted. Cras are very oversteerable. I have steering deadzone set to 0, but the car feels like it has a deadzone of 20. Or like a delay in the steering... Very strange.

Cool I'm glad I'm not the only one. I still have FFB on my Moza R5, but it's significantly reduced the sensitivity. I notice it the most when I go into corners. It's like I have no feeling of weight in the car. I can feel the wheels slip, the ground rumble, but no G force.

I tried reinstalling the game, I tried reapplying the text to the Devices file. Nothing has fixed this issue, it was working perfectly prior to the update.

This patch was supposed to fix the dead zone issues!!!

I didn't have a problem with deadzone until the update. After the update, the car is undriveable. The steering is insensitive as with the delay.

Having the same issue on Fanatec CSL DD. Calibrated wheel, checked all settings were the same as before update, reset them and set again and the issue persists.

Pretty sure that’s a different issue that’s because the drive ratios got wiped with custom set ups did you check to see if you still have all your gear ratios set?

Same here, the FFB is really horrible on tarmac now. CSL DD PRO 8NM.

I have a CSL DD, and I didn't bother to calibrate, and my wheel is working correctly.

After try a little on gravel, it's really not good for me, everything seems blur, the wheels is heavier than before even on dirt and it's like I lost all details on the FBB.
The worst is the tarmac where its really like having no feeling at all except a super super heavy wheel.
It's rambling and give some feed back but not detailed ones and not accurate ( on tarmac the wheel ramble and most of time i don't know why or what information the game want to give me). Its like playing with a xbox controller... Really disapointed by the update. Hop they will fix it or i will find a way to refine my setup to have something good again. I try to re calibrate couple of time changing the sensibility of the wheel without result, i try also to play with the dampers on the wheels but without significant result till now.

Just give a try to Dirt2 , and yeah definitly the new ffb is a mess on EA WRC. Directly on dirt 2 on tarmac (germany one) i feel the road details with accurate rambling, the weight transfert in the direction on turns, on breaking phase, and on acceleration.
Clearly for myself, i will need to try differents tunning than before on EA WRC because it's really bad...

Hi, I have a partial solution. Game after update 1.4 has a bug in the steering deadzone setting. When deazone is set to zero in the settings, the steering has a lot of play and deadzone.
When you set Deadzone on 1, the bug disappears and it's much better.
But I don't want any deadzone in the process.
When you push the car to the limit, every deadzone is annoying.

There's a lot of "experts" on the internet who claim to set the cars up a certain way but what you end up with is a car that's mute just about everywhere and feels like a tank on tarmac. The biggest culprit is the wheel friction/tire friction settings being way too high.

Here's my ffb settings. Now depending on your wheel type, you'll want to dial back the SAT, especially if you have some crazy strong DD wheel. You'll probably want to go around 60 or something. I am using a Logitech so yeah :D Otherwise, rest is just fine regardless of wheel type. Try it out. I feel every little bump/dip in the road, my tires when they break free, ect. Driving on tarmac/gravel both feel really good and immersive. Nothing is muted.

After the 1.4 update, someone (including me) is experiencing the deadzone bug. When you have the Steerig deadzone set to 0, there is a large deadzone in the steering. You need to set Deazone to 1 and the bug is gone. The game then uses setting 1.
Otherwise, you're right, FFB must be set correctly - mainly to minimize Wheel friction.
