stutter/micro freezes fix, final solution
the game was unplayable until I've discovered the issue : codemasters has badly coded the game for the highest intel CPU like mine 13900k.
Since the anti cheat update ,we couldn't change the affiinty setting for the cores.

The only solution if like me with 4090/13900k you have massive micro freeze is to disable HT in bios and to disable the E cores.
Now the game is perfectly smooth, 144fps stable at 5120x1440 ultra all max :D

I will change my bad review only if Codemasters admit they are bad coders with the intel CPUs and fix the code for HT and E cores.....

Get ready I'm coming now in the game for the world records.

Tell me if it works for you.

EDIT : it's more and more smooth with the 2024 season update, it's good for us, but it shows with work they had to give this smoothness at DAY ONE.

no issue, if you configure well the bios
I'm pretty green at tinkering with my system under the hood, have never messed with the bios for anything. Is it difficult to adjust things regarding the game in the bios?
no, you will have just to disable a few features, and no issue, very easy. But it can work without any tweak, will test later on AMD, but not sure if it will be 7950x3d or the soon new 9950xd

I have a 4090 and 5800x3d and have occasional stutter. Not a lot as it was on release, but it still happens.

Do you do anything special to mitigate it (such as messing with settings in the BIOS), or do you just put up with it?

People with 4090 gpu and having issues should try undervolting it.

It's not a card issue, it's an engine issue. Come on man, as if it wasn't common knowledge that Unreal Engine suffers from compilation stutter. Literally have zero issues with any other game, including running Cyber Punk on ultra with path tracing, a much more demanding game.

i have zero issue in all the games, now with some tweaks in bios I have no more issue in EA WRC, the only one game with micro freeze, it's very bad coded

Game Engine issue when I'm not suffering from freezes or stutters on 3070? (+cpu 7800X3D)

Only some sort of freezes/stutters (maybe could be called lag-spike) happen when crashing the car harder (or even lighter) because I think that's related to how game calculates damage, car body deformation, what car body panel parts fall off in that situation etc. If driving cleanly game is very smooth to my eyes.

On ACC which also uses eu4 I recall having stutters back in 2020 but back then I had 1070 gpu (+cpu was 6700K).

On AMD cpus the issue is core parking in many cases. Disable this crap via registry tweak, because the high power plan thing alone is not assured to make things work. Also, if your CPU has eight physical cores, disable whatever "hyperthreading" too in most cases, being this game one of them.

On Intel with at least eight physical performance cores, disable the eco ones and hyperthreading too.

Came back to WRC just to experience this. Last year I ran this game on a 10700k with a 3090 no issues but on a 14700k with a 4090 microstutters all over the place that is until I unparked all cores. Apparently MS decides to rather park P-cores instead of E-cores.

I came to this solution on the DCS forum:

https://forum.dcs.world/topic/335866-disabling-core-parking-in-windows-fixed-my-stuttering-in-menu-and-game/

Perhaps some of you on Intel may benefit as well. It solved my problems in an instant.

not enought, remove e core and HT is the best

I've played the game now for probably a little over ten hours. I've seen exactly one "micro stutter" while playing in Sweden. Maybe. Obviously mileage for this game's performance is going to vary per user.
4090 gpu, 7950 x3d cpu, Win 10 Home, 64 GB DDR5 RAM. No adjustments to the game whatsoever, just opened it up and played using the defaults.

4090? LOL! Ok, how many average Peoples can afford a PC with a 4090??? pls im on 3080ti what is still an High End GPU and i get some stutters but if i cap fps its gone. IUse lossless scaling to get high FPS (165hz).

I brought up my hardware because from what I've read it's mostly the people with the highest end hardware suffering from stuttering issues.
pixelcowboy79 Oct 8, 2024 @ 2:09pm
Might be premature, but haven't seen a single stutter since updating to the latest patch.
