Bloom/overexposure/reflections
Is there a definitive fix for this now?
The game is still extremely shiny/bright, outwashed colors, most of the stuff on screen is white/fades to white. Road reflections are still very harsh and bright. Face/pacenotes of my codriver is so bright I can't really see it either. Currently on 0.30 brightness.
Is there any fix for these issues yet? The patch made performance alot better but there's still a bunch of issues with lighting... fps drops a solid 20% with the headlights on for example

Another one waiting for the sunglasses-DLC, hey? To be fair: around noon at summer-time on the Iberian peninsula can really hurt my eyes when not using shades. Part being the intensity of the sun, part being the typical bright wall-finishes in southern-European settlements. Especially the Greek culture is renowned for the dominance of pure-white structures in their traditional architecture.

Yes, it's so frustrating that the game doesn't work properly with SDR monitors.

Only fix is having a hdr monitor atm. :(. Hoping they will adress it, cause its kinda sad that the road on half of the locations are as bright as the sun making it almost unplayable when using the wheel or dash cam.

Stick that at the bottom of your engine ini. made a big difference for me
I might actually turn bloom back on.

This is in the users\YOURNAME\appdata\Local\wrc\saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ folder if I am not mistaken?

Also make sure to have a space between the last line of the original file and the add on lines.
At least i think so, i don't know if it matters but here is what mine looks like at the bottom...

No worries - I just wanted to double check on this! Thanks!

Unfortunately, none of the engine.ini tweaks get rid of the ridiculously overdone auto-exposure effects (despite the line above in the .ini) that should only impact the cockpit view inside the car even if working properly. Instead, they don't work properly and affect all the views, suggesting that it is EA who needs to fix it along with the issue of the overblown lighting described above. Can't believe it was not done already in conjunction with the other graphics fixes.

Still also waiting for water splash water to have the physics of water instead of mud or wet cement.

Still also waiting for proper clutch behaviour across all vehicles, which will require a third drive train simulation for non-hybrid sequential cars. Highly doubt we'll ever see that one even though the majority of the cars in the game are in this (broken) category!

Thats a bummer. I wonder what fixed it for me. It is so much better now then it used to be.

I'm in a VR headset, perhaps that is the difference.

Yeah I agree. The engine.ini fix is nice but it's something EA/CM should have patched in themselves. Its janky at best to rely on this.

Codies have fired a bunch of employees so i'm worried that this game won't receive the proper support it needs to survive.

Thanks for the engine.ini lines, i'll give it a try soon.

wasn't it EA doing that after their takeover... basically saying that they have better people and we are keeping ours so you can go... as per EA style. Or was that a different company they assimilated recently that I am thinking of.

No idea, wouldn't be surprised, either way, the amount of staff has shrunk :/ Doesn't bode well for this game

Yep - I agree. I am hearing that BeamNG is becoming a rally contender - so I might have to look into that if this doesn't work out - especially since I just learned that van rallys are a thing...

BeamNG is awesome, yet it is not yet even remotely a Rally-sim. It is more of a physics sandbox with many properties we wish realism-focused, serious rally-sims (that we wish for but do not exist, yet) should copy / incorporate.
