UEVR is much better *Solved*
The same thing happens with the horrible head tracking stutter in the F1 series.

I've tried lowering the resolution to the lowest, lowering the options to the lowest, and adjusting all the upscaling options and it's the same.

They have ignored this for 2 years and have neither the will nor the ability to fix it.
I give up all hope.

Edit: Do not use STEAM VR. In my case, using vdxr solved it.

I expected as much, assuming F1 24 will be the same also. It’s unplayable, especially if you’ve tried actual vr in sim racing.

Had the same issue, what a shame

I currently only drive in iRacing. I hope that EA will manage to implement VR properly.
I don't have this issue. I'm using a Samsung Odyssey+ with a 1080ti. It runs much better than UEVR for me. Better frames and much better image quality. The tracking is flawless as well.

I too was using a Samsung Odyssey+ and didn't notice much of a problem with the f1 series.
Now that I'm using MetaQuest 3, I'm experiencing the same thing even though I've adjusted all the options.
It might be an unknown compatibility issue rather than a performance issue. I don't have this issue with any other VR sim racing.
Apparently there are a lot of people having the same problem, and they haven't done anything about it for 2 years.

I was able to solve this problem via virtual desktop, you have to set the runtime to VDXR and start the game from desktop (not steamvr).
This solved the problem for me, unfortunately it prevents you from using dlss (at least on my setup) but at least it allows me to play the game normally

I solved the problem thanks to you, thank you so much!
It is a VR rally game that is fun enough to play.
Hopefully they will fix the upscaling issue and the problems with the F1 series
not so typical, first time that I have problems like this one

SteamVR works fine for me. UEVR I got worse performance overall, but definitely enjoyed the menus and replays more since they were in 3D with UEVR. Upscaling needs turned off though, it makes everything look terrible.

For me, VDXR doesnt work at all, game wont even launch, Using VD with SteamVR over the wireless the performance in the game is super bad for me.
Tested with my link cable and its flawless, lol. Yay!

Please can you explain how to do this to a near 60 year old lol? Using Quest 2. Although I am launching from desktop with the headset on, and using the Oculus control to confirm VR play. currently using Oculus tray tool to up pixels to 1.5 at the expense of some FPS 75/80 fps. It is a lot clearer at distance

I've had that stutter playing with Steam VR. I didn't have that problem until I raised the resolution of the game a lot on Steam VR (+5000). Then I lowered the resolution back to the values it had initially but it seems that Steam VR did not react very well to the resolution change (it seems that some file had been corrupted and it was impossible to eliminate the stuttering completely). The solution that worked for me was to uninstall Steam VR (in my case the Beta version) and manually delete the Steam VR folder located in c\users\"user_name"\Appdata\SteamVR. I then cleaned obsolete registry keys with CCleaner, restarted the PC, and reinstalled Stream VR again. I think it is important to delete that folder manually since uninstalling Steam VR from the Windows panel does not delete it. In any case, the game is very poorly optimized for VR. Greetings and I hope that it can help someone.

To change runtime in Virtual Desktop, you have to open the options of the virtual desktop streamer app on pc, and under “openXR runtime” select VDXR. I don't know if oculus tray tool is compatible with virtual desktop, to increase the game resolution I use the internal menu of the app on the headset

PS: all this works if to connect pc and quest you use virtual desktop app, if you use meta link or steam app all this does not apply
