Is VR THAT BAD?
I've been reading reviews of people saying that the VR implementation on this game is just terrible. I mean, is a beta, right? and also many VR games are kind of blurry, not even AM2 or Dirt rally 2.0 are crystal clear. Any with a good vr experience out there?

No its not that bad, you just need to know what to tinker with. It took me about 2 days to get it working like I wanted on my Pimax 5k.

The most important thing is AA on low and trees on ultra low against the shimmering. And DLSS off.

Now Im happy with the results, probably EA will give us an update to make it even better but Im content with this.
It's a beta, so with any luck over time it's only going to get better ...but for the time being it's not a game I can recommend to people like me who use vr, or at any rate if you get it, know that the situation as a whole is far inferior to the vr you can get in Dirt rally 2.0.
If you haven't played DR2 yet, I recommend you get the goty and come back to WRC in a few patches ...if on the other hand like me you've already played DR2 and want something new, try WRC and keep a timer handy to be able to render if the situation is not acceptable to you

I also suggest to turn on, in the vr menu, the option about the horizon (I don't remember the exact name)

Its bad and it can't really get better,

this is not forward render in VR.
its deferred rendering, ie, it will always look and perform like crap.

there is no resolution high enough you can use to overcome jaggies and horrible details with no AA set.

there is no AA options that aren't temporal and don't blur absolutely everything to hell

there is no way to run this at 90fps without running some sort of upscaling, which again is horrible in VR and even more horrible when the starting resolutions and details are so low.

idiots on youtube have 4090's, running low render resolutions AND still using DLSS.

this VR mode is doomed, this is more like ACC in regards to being deferred rendering then everything else, and look how bad ACC looks and runs in VR

But what about using ASW? I've tried it on AM2 and DR2, even of PC3 and it doesn't look thaaaaat bad. The thing is that I own a Rift S so I am scared that it looks too blurry

If you are going to use the 6Gb 3060 laptop you mentioned in a recent post on another steam forum then I suggest giving the game a miss especially for VR.
You are below the min spec ( 8Gb Vram) .
It's adequate. It's not as good in VR as dirt rally 2.0 while being more demanding. I'm using a 1080ti and wouldn't expect it to run well with anything less.

Its been very acceptable for me. Not the best but a very good foundation

Thats how i play. I use 120 hz mode with ASW on and 60 feels smoother then a locked 90, don't know why but it just works

Is good enough. I am having a blast. You need to run the game at max super sampling of your headset AND increase the pixel density AGAIN in the Oculus debug tool if you are using a Quest 2 or Quest 3. This will clear up 80% of your blurriness. Run it in DLSS under Quality setting. There are color and exposure balancing setting you have to apply in the engine.ini file to reduce the overexposure. Depending on your GPU, you can run the game under Ultra or High settings. I have a 4080 super and most of my graphic settings are at high or ultra. You can turn off AA too if using DLSS since DLSS will eliminate jaggies. If they can improve the image quality a bit and giving up a more performance boost, this game in VR will replace Dirty Rally 2 in VR, really. I hate the flat screen version but in VR, is another game. Massive track details like you feel like you are in a forest. Massive elevation changes with tons of MOUNTAIN STAGES.

What? ACC in VR runs fine with my 4080 super. 135% pixel density and 90% resolution scale, with 1.4x super sampling. 80 Hz. Everything is almost crisp sharp.

It's shoddy work and they know it, refunded!

People who say it's good have no idea how racing game should look like in vr. Just play AMS2 or Dirt rally 2 and than come back and tell me if this is good.
TLDR: this game looks like ♥♥♥♥ in VR even on 500% steam resoluton.

You should visit the EA WRC subreddit. People there getting VR to work and sharing settings. Here, we have whiners ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about VR. I have the game since launch. Can't refund it. I may as well getting VR to work. FYI, in VR, I ranked top 8 in one of the Chile stages in TT mode. :D

...do you know that you can be a fan of the game and simultaneously acknowledge that they did a crappy job with vr?
It's not an argument about being able to make it work. Of course it works. But is it enjoyable to use?
It's a game, if it's not nice and/or fun to use, what's the point of playing it?
