Shimmering or blurry in VR
Anti aliasing makes the game blurry and have stereoincorrect ghosting effects, which are painfull to look at. The same with upscalers. AA on off, make everything look sharp, but folliage and small items shimmer wildly and are distracting.

The only way I found the game useable is no AA, no upscaling, trees to ultra low, so they turn into cutouts, which don't have enough detail to shimmer. Ground cover on high looks good though.

Small objects like wires and fences to shimmer in a distracting way still.

Can we get proper MSAA please?

I don't understand if others who say this game looks good are bots or payed to say that. But this game looks like garbage in VR on ULTRA, 500% steam resoluton, compared to other titles like dirt rally 2 or ams 2.
some people are “lucky” enough to be completely blind to certain flaws ...I saw just yesterday a guy on YT recommending AA set to high “because it gives great results”

...I'm a bit jealous some times

Seems to me that upscaling is what makes it blurry. Anti aliasing (high) looks good to me and horrible without it. I did notice some shimmering but it wasnt in all locations.
I get good results with textures on ultra, AA on medium with Reshade CAS sharpening. Anything above medium AA is too soft and anything below is too shimmery.

WRC in VR is a total disaster. Graphics from the 90s.....

Depends on the headset. The game looks good in my Beyond with AA off, but at 3560x3560 native res I don't really need anti-aliasing that much compared to older, lower-res headsets.

Complete joke of a VR release. Rift S and Reverb G2 are pretty much unplayable no matter the settings. Spent 3 hours on it last night and it was literally a waste of time. RTX 3080 and 14700k

4090 or 7900xtx is the absolute minimum to play this game in vr. Otherwise it looks terrible.

Mate, play it on a monitor wearing a simple pair of red green filters and it looks better than VR with a 4090. WRC official VR is ♥♥♥♥♥.
WRC is a good game, but it should be up to me whether I want to play it in flat or vr, it should not depend on the fact that they made an unusable vr conversion.

Using fidelity fx as anti-aliasing made it sharp for me. Looks decent enough. My only problem is the camera view, it puts me too far back in the cockpit and I cannot get close enough with the keybinds.

Odd, I can't get far enough back most of the time.

I have faught tooth and nail to get ACC to look and run acceptable and still failed.

I have to say, WRC is not too bad. I have it maxed out and have yet to see any stuttering or drops.

I have AA on highest and fidelity max sharpness.

Subpar machine

I7 12700f
4070ti
32 ram
Dpvr E4 hmd (quest 2 resolution)

What I hate is the rear view mirror. So gross.

If they port the game to UE5, they could have a separate forward rendering mode for VR that allows MSAA.

That would take a lot of work, though. EA has the money to make it happen but they're too busy chasing live service games

I'm using cinematic AA and quality DLSS to get make it sharp and shimmer free with a 4090. Downside is there are some motion artifacts from DLSS.

As you can see it can be clear, but is much more demanding than AMS2 and AC to reach a slightly inferior level of clarity and sharpness. It's similar to ACC in this way. With that being said I'm ok with the image quality and performance with a 4090. For everyone with lower specs though the VR implementation currently leaves a lot to be desired.

Here's both a VR desktop capture and thru the lens cell phone capture. The cell phone videos kinda suck because it's hard to keep the video in focus. You can see moments where it's in focus and clear though and that's how it looks the entire time I'm in VR.

Desktop capture, make sure to watch in 1440p: https://youtu.be/vgiGvytpnPk?si=KowJtEfJhdwsBXgC
The part at 53 seconds looks great imo
