I've played Generations with my wheel too but the pedal thing is really bothering me so I switched over to other games but honestly I play all kinds of racing games, including different WRC/Rally games like RBR (Czech plugin) and WRC 10 which works fine but honestly only 2 games have these modern cars and one of them isn't working properly so I kind of stick with EA WRC and like it a lot, kind of like Dirt 2.0 but its tracks I find a little bit inferior compared to this game.
RBR is old, like really old and I don't mind it. It's not about the graphics for me or the gameplay but because I've played it on and off since it almost came out I have plenty of time in it and I love it...
Like...
The point is a bit like. There almost is no need to sick with one game alone, especially if there are more games avaialble, so it's pretty cool to be able to switch out between them but honestly yeah... I do not always like these WRC games because of some aspects found or not found within like for example.
Lack of wheelspin. For some reason a lot of these modern games lack really enjoyable sliding and drifting physics or even lack of wheelspin when you go through a corner where when I watch some videos of real world rally, that seems to be all that they are doing, slipping and sliding around now.
I understand modern cars with their modern tires and modern engineering and modern technology might not have wheelspin and may not slide around that much because of these reason of new things that the games simulate or portray but when in like EA WRC or WRC 10, Dirt 2.0 I drive in a 80's GroupB car, I kind of expect that the cars would slide more but again the fact that they don't may have to do with the fact that it's 4x4 cars that I drive and they don't necessarily slide a lot, like in Dirt 2.0 when I drive that awesome Porsche found in game, that one slides a lot and I love to drive and control it but in EA WRC when I drive rear wheel drive cars they don't slide so much so... That's one aspect I don't necessarily like a lot but at the same time I think it's a pretty nice game.
There is already a simple mod that fixes that issue completely.
The physics mod gives this exact feeling. The cars can slide and drift even on tarmac now.
You should look it up and give the game another chance with these.
I use the Reddit -> https://www.reddit.com/r/WRCTheGame/
Those are also discussed on the General Discussions board of the game here in Steam.
But Reddit is the best place I feel. Both mods are pinned on the top.
Nice that people have choice, but I know which ones I'll be picking everyday of the week. And it sure ain't Generations.
In 2024 with that money and with that graphics (that are not that good to be fair) theres no escuse to have such maps that looks like its made by an autogenerate tool. RBR is a PS2 game and have some maps with more life than this.
Interesting, the throttle is very similar in both WRC10, and WRCG. In fact, there is no meaningful difference.
I've always said that the throttle in WRCG leaves a lot to be desired, however, much of the "problem" was in people's head.
There's no doubt that the WRCG stages are too intense for some people, it's better they stick with the tame stages in EA WRC.
I do agree, it's nice to have choices.
I agree, they all have flaws.
