problem still occurs on 25th august 2024.
did a reinstall of the game. error stillt occurs.
I think it's EA anticheat interfering with reading of the files. Way more people are getting this error since the anticheat was introduced

I have the same problem. But only in career mode. All other modes are working.

This "game files are missing" problem keeps me from playing since February. I've tried again to install and play the game today, but after 20mins of playing the good old "games files are missing or corrupted" message appeared.
Every other game runs perfectly on my system, only this piece of garbage refuse to do.
Over and out, I never gonna buy again anything even loosely connected to EA.

validate your game files then open the EAAnticheat folder (program files, Steam, steamapps, common, EA WRCanticheat, once open scroll down and select EA WRC from the drop down menu and click update. This should help

I'm getting this regularly now, and it's not happening with any other games.
Not buying any DLC until they fix it.

I don't remember the order but a combination of below steps worked for me (at least for now :) ).

- sfc /scannow
- open Steam > Steam > settings > downloads > clear donwload cache
- open Steam > Steam > settings > storage > (select drive on which the game is installed) > (three dots button) > repair library
- open Steam > library > right-click on game > properties > installed files > verify integrity of game files

Thanks a lot, this solved my launch issue after the newest update!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
