I have 4 systems. 2 with RTX 3080, one with RTX3090 and one with RTX 4080. All with top end CPUs. This game does not play perfectly on any one of them at any resolution on any one of these setups. It isn't an FPS problem for me specifically, they all can push over 100FPS, although that can be an issue and you shouldn't have to compromise on graphics settings with such expensive equipment for those having FPS issues for a game that doesn't even look that great. Especially when your setups run Alan Wake 2 for example maxed out well over 60FPS. It is the fact that you get the stutters and random performance drops no matter the graphical settings.

There are some people who may not know any better, as they may not have high end gear or simply aren't that critical of the games they play (a lot of people arent) and accept hiccups with games because they have never actually cared about how to get a game optimised for their setup. The opinion of these people as to the game running perfect is their opinion and that's fine but it doesnt make it a fact (especially when its very clear there are issues, confirmed by devs), its that they are happy to accept the performance and play the game in its current state.

I don't want to upset anyone, but for those wondering do you upgrade your GPU for this game. Please, don't waste your money I have been there done that for ACC before this and certain game engines just aren't meant for certain types of games, in my opinion.

Underneath the issues, there could be a really good game, and I look forward to when its fixed. But it should never have seen the light of day in its current state. Looking forward to the next patch, that we have already prepaid for.......... Lets hope things get better.

To the OP, I agree lets let it cook some more and come back later when its done

Well you don't own it on Steam so you using the EA launcher? I've heard that's a culprit for some performance issues because you have to use their god-awful launcher. The steam version is without that nonsense. I know several people like myself with 3080's and we are getting great performance and Paradox1126 is using a 2080 and again, getting great performance.

Not saying you guys are liars but it's just odd to me is all. Game isn't even a month old and for sure better optimization is to come with patches. If it's truly unplayable for you with a 4090 or 4080, I guess try again. Can't imagine what devs are magically going to do for you guys if you can't run the game with those cards now though. Who knows! Crossing my fingers you guys get a fix because it's a great game.

OP wrote a review after 1 hour of playing. In that time it is even hard to properly set all the wheel settings and go over all options ...and he HONESTLY write an review ROFL

BTW: why always people with highend gear (they don't forget to put that out) have most problems?
Honestly I think there is some correlation with overall skills and behave on forum :)

It works perfectly for me in every aspect on 3080@1440p...now I am having blast just driving and doing some good times

@OP - Honestly buy console and don't bother with rally anymore...you will get frustrated even if game would work for you...then you will find some other reason not to enjoy it.

I'm on a 3070, I still have some 'first run on stage' stutters, but other than that it runs pretty good at 1440p with almost everything on high (except car reflections and shadows, iirc) for me.

Hey guys, glad to hear it works fine for you with your setups. I am on EA Launcher and maybe that does have something to do with it. I have both Intel and AMD CPU setups across my rigs on 2k, 3k and 4k screens and cant get any real consistency that feels really good on any of them. There are no doubt more patches on the way but the bottom line is so many games are fumbled on release these days. Its the norm now.

I do think it will be a better game than DR2 eventually but right now I would rather wait for more patches than play feeling annoyed.

Cheers for the constructive convo. Have a nice night people.

People with this specs any game has to run to perfection on ultra. The power is there.
Problem is that the games are now usually poorly optimized and tested on launch
where tf you hear this? i think your fkn clueless no game has to run to perfection ,never has never will ,get over it.

Of course they don't, because most games are not optimized. But they should! That is the point.

Additionally: It's a fact that this game runs poorly across all configurations, look at the steam reviews, look what the devs are fixing. If it runs good for you, great, but that does not invalidate the fact, that it does not for a lot of people.

again No they shouldnt. the game and software isnt even CAPABLE of utilizing todays graphics cards to the fullest . the technology isnt there same goes for ♥♥♥♥ like 8k its fkin useless cause the tech isnt there to fully display 8k for IE .. etc its called marketing
I have an old GPU 2060 super on a 10900k cpu running EA WRC on high settings getting Frame rate off 89 too 102 and only stuttering on online.
But yesterday I did few races on full screen mode I mean with no dash or car in view could not believe what happened my frame rate went up too 114 too 145 and stuttering had gone

Imagine buying a 4090 and the games still have performance problems :D
2023 gaming is something
Imagine buying a 4090 and not knowing how to properly configured a system.

Game runs great on my 3090.. WITH THREE MONITORS.

Yup, mine runs great on ultra on a 2080.

Guys I have replaced my 4090 by an old gtx 1060, and I have 160 fps at 4K ultra without stutter or freeze !
With ultra car reflection I have 160fps at 4K ultra !
It seems the game is optimised for the gtx 1060 !!!

Pfft, you're probably using the 1060 6gb model. Had you downgraded to the 1060 3gb model you would have achieved 240fps at 4K ultra easy.

micro freezes at each turn ? with 4090 and 13900k...
See you next year.....

without that it's a very good game, but I can't play.

Codemasters could have potentially delayed the game by an additional six months to ensure it reached a higher level of perfection. It's difficult to solely hold Codemasters accountable for this decision, as it likely stems from directives issued at a higher organizational level.

In my opinion, this choice appears unwise as it may negatively impact future sales. The game might be remembered for its bugs, which generally deter players from purchasing, ultimately affecting its reception in the coming years.

the funny things is I can have 4k 120fps perfectly stable in WRC 10 now with 4090 13900K , in WRC Generation 4K 120fps is too much demanding maybe with 5090....
I wait for a patch, cause I admit at 60fps EA WRC feels stable but I have hoped Codemasters will release a smooth game like Dirt rally 2.0 which feels like GOD today
No problems here aside stuttering, weird reflection/AA and not liking my USB handbrake issues before the first/second patch, I'm using a Ryzen 5 5600X with RX 6800 GPU on a 3440x1440 ultrawide with a CSL Elite wheel/pedals. Since I have my monitor set to 100Hz I can get between 78-95fps most of the time with mostly medium/high settings and a few entries in engine.ini. I only go back to DR2 for the daily/weekly stuff now.

Turn down vehicle shadowing I have a 7800xt and it was struggling but that keeps it above 60 that and lower shadows to high or medium but I do that anyway because most games shadowing is just a waste of time.
We should not have to compromise with good hardware, that's why we buy it.Turning down graphics to get the smooth gameplay is a sure sign of poor game design and/or lack of optimisation before release. The game has many issues and was not ready to be released plain and simple. The engine they chose is not optimal for racing titles and requires many many months of tweaking to get smooth gameplay WITHOUT sacrificing graphics, just look at ACC for a great example. When this game finally runs like it should have at release,ea will likely be pushing the next iteration out the door unfinished, that would be the time to buy this one.
