WRC Generations is so much better
I've been driving EA WRC since it came out and have been very disappointed by the graphics and stuttering, even after patches. I had a drive in WRC Generations last night to compare it, and was shocked to realise Generations looks infinitely better, frame rates are rock solid. Generations puts a smile on my face, I looked worried driving EA WRC. Sorry EA, this is a step backwards, not forwards.

Yeah, I don't see it.

I just tested this on a stage in Finland and i could drive through every bush there was and i couldnt if it was a tree. Seems totally okay to me, just stay away from trees.
If i remember correctly there were rare occasions where i stopped due to a bush on some stage on another location and i thought that shouldnt have happened. Maybe this was intended by the devs or maybe they programmed it wrong. I dont know.
But like i said, it probably is game design and the devs decided which plant models you can go through and which you cant. So we need to learn and master it. And i am nowhere near a good driver in this game.

I was about to say that Pacifico(think it was) rally I know you couldn't it's basically an indestructible bushes there and that's it. Let me reclarify as far as EA WRC being a simulator it's doing great in that department and even content wise I can't complain.

It's just the graphics in comparison to DR2.0 or as others are saying WRC Generations it's backwards. Not every tree/sign in DR2.0(only one I can speak of) was breakable, but with that stage I mention it's just bad.

Just drove in Italy and yeah there are some bushes that stop you. Others make your car go bumpy which is an okay behavior. Seems like it is pretty inconsistent througout the stages.

Looks like a Mod that fixes the throttle has just been released for WRC Generations by Avery3R, Thread Title Throttle fix mod here:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1953520/discussions/0/4029095104378871702/

And exposes the car details too, so it looks like you maybe able to make custom spec cars (or the missing cars).

At the time of writing not all cars fixed yet (add your pull requests on GitHub).

e.g. "GRAVEL_037.DYN":
<WrcCarRigidbody> <props> <prop name="AngularDamping" value="0" /> <prop name="CenterOfMassOffset" value="0.0000;0.1460;0.4000" /> <prop name="LinearDamping" value="0" /> <prop name="Mass" value="1110" /> <prop name="MaxAngularVelocity" value="15" /> </props> </WrcCarRigidbody>

sorry, i think the same, this game seem to be not criticizable/unbreakable like fences, i can´t with that. IN WRC generations some fall and break. here none. it's not funny

Yeah, but they stop you as in coming to complete stop as in it's not a bush, but unmovable object instead like a rock. Still playing DR2.0 and I stand corrected, the bushes can stop you, but not complete stop same with signs again some do serious damage, but smaller ones only small amount of damage.

The Throttle "bug" on WRC Generations has been fixed and a Modding tool has been released this 3 weeks ago.

I hope modders will mod WRCG and make it better than EA WRC.

Here is the mod:

There never was a "throttle bug" so I'm not sure what exactly this mod does.

I haven't followed this closely, but from what I've read, this mod doesn't "fix" the throttle, but it does create several new problems.

jesus christ

yes, everyone's aware that in the strictest possible terms it's an issue with auto-clutching
everybody also calls it the "throttle bug" because it's convenient, everybody except you in particular knows what they're referring to, and because in layman's terms it adequately exemplifies exactly what the issue is (throttle inputs are not being transferred to the drive wheels in any way, shape or form approximating either reality, or previous rally games)

this semantic pedantry doesn't make you sound any smarter than you actually are

Weird discussion. The entire WRC series is unplayable garbage. Totally insensitive and rubbery FFB and terrible car sounds. The engine sound from the Bonnet cam is a shame. FFB didn't work at all in WRCG, and many steering wheels still don't work in the game today.
The only good thing was the stage design.

People made all kinds of false claims about the throttle in WRCG, and I've proven (with video, and telemetry data) that most of the claims about the throttle were verifiably wrong.

I've said for a long time that the throttle implementation in WRCG leaves a lot to be desired, but most of the people talking about the "throttler bug" were talking out of their backsides.

As to the mod that "fixes" the "throttle bug", I've read that it doesn't do anything other than mess up the gearing of the cars. I haven't tried the mod myself, but, from what others are saying, it's doesn't appear to "fix" anything, while messing up the gearing.

I have almost all the WRC titles (sans 1-3) and 7 was the peak IMO, 10 was good too but really didn't like Gens and it didn't play nice with my wheel anyways (shifter doesn't work and FFB was terrible).
Tracker_168 Dec 31, 2023 @ 10:15am
WRC Generations throttle modeling was a piss poor mess. Anyone who has driven a real car can feel it was not right Even compared to other sims, it felt off. And then there is the auto clutch issue that broke it even further.
