I Give Up.
Want to enjoy this game so much. And yet here we are weeks after launch and its still a stutter fest on higher end hardware. Ive tried every trick thats posted out there and nothings changed. The patch helped but its still not smooth despite having high fps. Hitching is the absolute definition of what not to have in a racing game. Game reports a solid 60fps with vsync on, dropping to 59 or 58 every now and then but only for a frame or 2, or 130 fps with vsync off, yet the game feels like its constantly hitching and im just done with trying to figure it out. Yet another AAA title completely destroyed by a crappy launch state.
Specs.
AMD 7900X @ 5ghz.
32gb DDR5 @ 6200mhz
Tuf Gaming RTX 4070Ti
Tuf Gaming Asus X670E mobo.
all installed on a NVME drive.
At a loss as I blow the recommended specs clear out of the water. I can play any other game on Ultra no problem. This, it doesnt matter what i change the hitching is there. And if its denuvo i hope they crater the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ product that it has been since it came out. What i dont get is how it can report 130 fps but yet you can FEEL every frame.....

Whats your screen refresh rate?
Deadpool Nov 12, 2023 @ 8:47am
i run it v-synq off but fps cap in nvidia setting at 115 since i play on 120hz g-synq screen. you need to use v-synq off and limit fps under hz monitor

Im only @ 60hz 1080P which is why im so baffled as to the horrible performance. Im gonna go live here in a few to try and troubleshoot. DocsGearHeadGaming on Twitch. I wanna get into this game but I cant play with the hitching. Its infuriating lol.

I'll try this here now.

Have you tried something like this? I haven't been having issues with stutters after using this, and the game looks better.

Well after all that, Still stuttering. But not according to the FPS. Locked it at 85 with no vsync and it hasnt dropped below 84fps. using 30%gpu 20% cpu. Im at a loss. Game does look much better now though with the scalability. A little dark but much nicer.

Too bad, it seems to have fixed the stuttering for me.

I agree that this scalability settings does make it a little dark, try adjusting the r.ToneMapperGamma setting to 1.6, or higher, and see if that helps.

r.ToneMapperGamma=1.6

Try to:
- turn on vsync in Nvidia control panel
- turn off vsync in game
- dont cap fps
- change shadows and dynamic objects to high and car reflections to ultra low, rest can be on ultra

game randomly stutters still for me, and everyone i know who owns the game also. So either people get incredibly lucky to not get ANY stutters whatsoever, or they aint sensitive to it and dont notice. There is a clear difference between frame drops and stutters btw, there is certain areas on certain stages that will always stutter and the exact same place without fail. UE is a pile, it really is.

Goodbye my friend.
Kosmozuikis Nov 12, 2023 @ 11:27am
Game runs fine, maybe on stutter per hour or so. Maybe disable those afterbunrner overlays and stop looking at graphs and numbers and instead just enjoy the game.

It's not looking the numbers; he' s feeling the not smothness and not enjoying it. You simply cannot notice it or you have an high tolerance. I refunded the game for the same reason; simply not acceptable this crappy graphic, performance and AI.
Dirt 2 is still much better in every field.
