Driver's view preference!
I use hood view. I understand why people think the in-car view is more realistic. But in my experience in driving real cars in competition the hood view is more realistic. When you are driving competitively your focus is on the road and basically your peripheral vision is suppressed, thus the need for bright shift lights. When driving you only focus on what you need to go fast and if you need to look at stuff inside the car you are not driving fast.

That's funny because if I remember correctly, when you switch between dash and hood views, the camera itself doesn't change at all (doesn't move forward/backward, doesn't move left/right), you just switch between 2 overlays.

I did notice that myself when flicking through views. I don't like hood view because if you have a collision then the bonnet pops and gets in the way. I've settled in car dash view without the wheel. Normal cockpit view just doesn't seem to feel right in terms of it's dimensions. The track looks too narrow and the dash is so wide it looks like it's overhanging the right side of the road. It would be nice if seat position was just limited to full cockpit view though.

And man that bonnet likes to pop... I simply switch to dash view in that case, which is also problematic with some of the custom cars where the dash view is too low.

"A lot of.." like; 1% of all the rally drivers in the world, is still a lot of people..

And that's why we now have cameras on the back of all new cars: to show what the rear is doing..

I really like the hood and dashcam but I hate that only the cockpit camera can be moved

Let's make a petition to make all cameras customizable like in every other game?

personally i think the in car views are the worst of any game so far for me lol why are they not all adjustable?
and the one that is adjustable is pretty limited on many cars

i also hate that the windshield adds this washed out look to everything lol

so EA WRC is the only racing sim/game ive ever played on hood/bonnet view and even that doesnt feel great honestly just better then the in car cameras and visually much nicer.

but yea i find it very annoying the last few times i have played wrc i just cant get any camera settings that actually look and feel right compared to other sims like and ACC AMS2 even dirt rally 2.0 did better i feel like in this aspect.

ive tried a bunch of different FOV and adjusting and the seat in the one view your allowed to but the seat only goes about 50% as far forward as i would like in most cases like i started in the back seat lol did try lowering and raising the fov to see if it would make it better but it just made things even worse.

this is actually a big reason i have not played much recently the in car view just is poorly done to me it just feels much harder to see and tell where the car actually is on the track

i think there are a few older cars that the seat actually can go forward enough to have a ok view but it still seems like the windshield has this weird tint to it that washes everything out and makes it look worse no matter in the in car view/fov/seat position lol.

i think you should be able to adjust the camera position in all views i also think you should be able to turn the windshield tint/washed out look off its very unrealistic maybe as you go through the stage it can get dirty but to have it looking like its a blue tinted glass is strange and makes everything in the game look much worse.

for me the view in the cockpit and limited adjustibility is probably the biggest issue i have with the game lol and it actually keeps me from playing it as much as id like to be and also takes a lot of the immersion away using hood cam just feels more like an arcade game.....honestly not sure how they got this so wrong every stage/car change you have to readjust everything and it still doesnt feel/look the way it should usually.
