I already have other EA games on my PC, so that software is already on my machine. I assume you need this too, even though it is not listed. I could be wrong, but I have to log into my account when the game launches, so I assume this leverages my EA software. It could just be because of how my steam is linked with EA.

Thanks for all of this. Hope you were able to get it working again.
So my test is not valid right now. I do know the game logged into my EA account without me prompting it. But it may not require the EA app to work.
Sadly, it is well past my bedtime and I need to retire. Sorry for any confusion.
Just did this and my save works and I have everything I had before. Obviously, since S2 onwards is far away and they probably just made adjustments which gave us that notification
