AI difficulty is broken

Been racing in a WRC championship and found that difficulty slider does not work. started on 50 for Monte Carlo and now on Mexico round with difficulty max out. Finish the rally 5 minutes ahead of 2nd place.

Anyone else encounter this and have solutions?

Verified this myself. Started with 100 difficulty. Ran 2 stages that felt right. Quit out for dinner, returned to find the AI on baby mode, finishing several minutes ahead.

Yeah. I've finished longer events 15 minutes ahead with the slider maxed out. Then maybe next event it will work. Or not.

For me so far, I've found that around 95 difficulty is at least consistent in terms of how far behind or ahead the AI is. 100 they can be competitive for a while then you suddenly win a stage by five minutes, same thing with anything 90 or less.

Hello, have excatly the same. Slider to 85, couple of OS very competitive and then suddenly I win 2 minutes ahead of second one. Then need to wait to new Rally and maybe it will work for a while again.

I have it 100, which keeps it really competitive right up until the final stage when all the AI inexplicably go 2-3 minutes slower gifting me the win. Usually by that point I'm fighting for 4th to 10th place.

Based off of the dozens of reviews I've read, the AI is this game's biggest detractor. And I hate to spoil it for anyone who never played DR2.0 . . . that game's AI was also broken and they never fixed it.

I drive on max difficulty. I have had many times where I'm 30+ seconds behind and bottom of the chart, all the way to nearly 5 minutes ahead of 2nd place. It seems to change every time I play again. Sometimes I am bottom of the board and sometimes I'm 4 minutes ahead of WRC when I drove WRC2.
