Fanatec Shift Some Gears Not Working
I hate this game already. Performance is so bad, driver view is still super limited.
My Fanatec H-pattern shifter 2nd gear is completely unnoticed, and 1st gear is detected as reverse. All other gears work

Anyone else have this issue?

Turned out that the trick is to have shifter in sequential mode when launching the game. Once in game you can switch to H and everything works fine.

Worked a treat for me thanks.. I'm using the Clubsport shifter with a Clubsport USB adapter.... Just make sure the adapter firmware is set to the shifter and not the default handbrake which was another issue!

I have had this issue since getting the shifter last week and just figured out that launching wrc was consistently causing it.

The other workaround that works for me is starting the game with the shifter in R.

The workaround mentioned above worked for me. Calibrate using the fanatec software and then always boot the game with the shifter physically set to sequential mode. When in game you can swap between sequential and H pattern as much as you like and it all works fine, just always boot the game in sequential. If you boot the game in H pattern, you will have to use the fanatec calibration tool again as it will ruin the shifter for every game.

None of the solutions work for me, I have even tried having the USB disconnected and connecting it after loading the game and it doesn't work either.

So every time I start the WRC game I have to recalibrate it. I change first gear to reverse, first gear doesn't work and second gear flashes.

1 and 2 is broken in WRC for me as well with my Fanatec shifter. To my great annoyance, I noticed thant 1 and 2 may malfunction in Automobilista2 as well now. In Automobilista2, If i am in 1st gear, and push the gear lever slightly to the left, I get reverse gear. If I do the same in 2nd gear, I get neutral. In Automobilista2, this is not as big of a problem as in WRC, as the spring in the shifter pulls the lever to the right in 1st and 2nd gear.
You need to recalibrate shifter after WRC before using it in other game.
What a joke. Console-based crap, as usual. Maybe some day the PC version of games will be properly programmed and bug-tested prior to the conversion to consoles.

- Just calibrate it once in Fanatec driver.
- Before launching game, flip shifter to seq mode
- Start game, when fully loaded, flip back to H-mode.
Works 100% for me and I do not need to recalibrate every single time.

Hi Andrew. I have this same problem but with MOZA H-shifter. Shifts works in their software monitor, I can see at the same time. So there are no hardware problems, problem is with WRC.

But I don't understand this "flip shifter to seq mode". You mean a setting in WRC, you select seq mode when you close game. Then next day you are playing you start game and change back setting to H-shifter.

Is it this you mean? If that is the case it would be nice to have a script turning the setting automatically when you shutdown game. That would be managable I guess I we could out figure out where the settings are stored :)

Ok, I tried changing like I described there. No change to the better. Actually it got worse, after a while. I had to restart game to make it work at all again :)
But I evolved this whole matter in a another thread:
