Question about boss fight *spoilers*

What do I have to do in the chainsaw psycho boss fight? I get to break both generators and tried to use them to stun him, too but to no avail. He ends up one-shotting me always. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
Also, if you need help with a Spanish translation I can do it in an evening.

Hitting the generators will release an explosion that stuns the boss. Maybe he was too far away from the explosion when you detonated the generator.
