Controller randomly switching to keyboard mode

The game is fun, but for some reason there are trouble with controllers, steam input and keeping controller mode up.

I'm having this problem with this game with and without steam input.
I used both an xbox controller in bluethooth and a switch pro controler with cable.
I noted that my controller set up does change when i start the game, my switch controller ending up with xbox button setting despite being supported for exemple.

If you have the same trouble here are some temporary fixes :
-Save the game, for some reason saving the game revert it to controller mode
-alt-tab
-use the window button on keyboard

this is TEMPORARY, and the controller mode may not stay for long.
hoping for a patch soon.

Also sometime the bug does not appear when playing. So relaunching the game or restarting the computer may help. But when you are in a fight... well not the best ^^'

Also having this issue of the game randomly forgetting that I am using a controller and showing keyboard command labels and focusing on keyboard input. I can still use my controller in a limited way, but not everything works. The radial menu is not usable when this happens as you can open it but cannot select anything, especially a companion special ability at the top. Also can't use my ultimate as it doesn't recognize pushing down both thumbsticks. Alt-TAB doesn't work for me, unfortunately. I've even had times when saving didn't work the first time. I keep hoping this will get fixed in a patch but so far, no. At least my controller is working (unlike some others) but having it randomly stop recognizing it is a controller sucks, especially in combat as mentioned. I'm using an Xbox One controller. I have a usb keyboard and mouse, and have both turned off during play, so there is zero reason for it to switch since there is absolutely no input from my keyboard or mouse.

Same, my controller keeps getting disconnected? or rather it keeps switching back to the keyboard controls and the only button i can press is the pause.

Ditto, hoping they fix this one.. needing to swap windows and then back to fix this is making me want to spend less time with it.

I’m noticing that my game only switches to keyboard when I read something in game.
